Why do afl clubs need an eternity lead in time to come into the competition, every other sport is a couple of years and this is just more meaningless cost that could be going to grassroots funding to actually grow the game nationally.
There’s simply no need for full staff, player salaries across 2 teams bringing in zero income for 2 years, before they even enter the AFL competition (the w competition will lose about 70 mill this year after salary rises, what’s wrong with paying another 30 players and diluting the talent even further though?).

I heard they signed him because they really wanted their VFL and (I’m going to assume) VFLW coach to have the same initials.

Or maybe she should just coach the juniors, and keep sending the good ones to us instead.
As much as I like that idea, I would be much happier seeing Woosh progressing to an AFLW coach.

Why wouldn’t the 2028 AFL coach be the coach of the 2026 and 2027 VFL side?
I’d have thought the AFL would have predetermined that by now.
P.S. Where will they actually play, when the stadium hasn’t been built?

I wouldn’t have thought that’s necessary. 90% of these guys won’t be on their list and half of those that will won’t play /be material.
