Exactly this.
The DFO (Harbour Town) is just used for Marvel Stadium parking, there is a big wheel taking up space but not actually in use, the waterfront is lined by a series of overpriced cafes and bars.
It could be way better than what it is. I’m not even thinking residential living.
I’ll let all the folks and family I have there know. They seem pretty chuffed about living there so it’s going to come as a rude shock that it was all an illusion and they’ll need to move to Sydney or Perth to see out their days. Or Geelong?
I love Hobart. There’s always a lot to do when I go there, it’s absolutely beautiful to look at, and it has that great, uninterrupted view of the waterfront…
What else could you use it for ? I don’t think that the restaurants are any more overpriced than every other restaurant in Melbourne. We had lunch at an Italian joint in Southbank on Saturday, and while the good was OK and the serive was good, $500 for 4 people eating pasta and a bottle of wine and a few beers was high in my view.
Beautiful Gold Coast ??
What do you do on the second day ? I know, you drive to Queenstown to watch a footy game on gravel.
One does not drive to Queenstown under any circustances.
Fluorescent orange rivers make me uneasy.
The populations of both those places have a lot in common
The failure in Docklands is that they didn’t build over Spencer St station to connect it to the CBD, if they did that (I know it’s expensive) it would breath life into it and Melbourne could become an actual harbour city.
You would have thought that it would be cost effective as well. Multistory buildings over the railways line would been been better than the high rise in Docklands as well, could have left space for a school and a theatre and other entertainment facilities.
I don’t have a lot of faith that the outfit that’s currently taking 18 months to replace 6 fkn escalators at the collins st end of the station would have done any of the above right
Devils nominate more than 20 under-17 guns as ‘players of interest’ - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1463990
MORE than 20 under-17s players have been named in the initial list of prospects Tasmania can interview as part of its access to signing players this year ahead of the 2027 draft.
The likes of father-son prospects Koby Bewick (Essendon)… ![]()

Bit of a nothing story. Player can refuse?
Zero chance he’d go, but does suggest they’ve got access to the full pool. Could be pretty thin at the top and mean a high bid for Bewick.
Don’t worry guys, plenty of time for the AFL to tweak the rules so we don’t miss out on not getting Bewick.
Of course!
2026/2027 drafts are going to be crap. Dilute the talent pool as much as you can AFL so teams at the bottom of ladder remain there.
Not only they can sign up draftees a year before their draft eligible but also give them a hand full of draft concessions
AFL don’t care about teams struggling at the bottom they want Tassie being successful really quickly
They are F/S tied to clubs they should be off limits for Tassie
Are these the same polls that make it look like Pauline Hanson would win the federal election in a landslide?
