Because at this rate, they will have a lead of 600, and still have wickets in hand. Apart from Patel, the Kiwi bowlers donât look like taking any wickets.
What can be gained by batting on?
Does total runs/winning margin factor into the test trophy?
Wear out the Kiwis in the field, demoralise them. India couldâve easily enforced the follow-on given their bowlers werenât put through a massive workload in skittering NZ. But by batting again they ensure they keep the bowlers fresh, build up an unassailable lead, and also put the NZ players into a situation where they know they canât win, and also that with the time left in the game, more than 2 days play remaining, they wonât be able to survive that long. There is on one outcome in this match.
Mentally grind them into the turf and let the batsmen fill their boots for starters.
Iâm watching Sixers vs Stars. Stars have a very ordinary bowling line up and Ian Botham just mumbles the whole time. I have no idea what he is saying, it feels like Ponting is covering for him

Stars were horrible bowling. Stanlake gone for the season, Hatcher also out injured for few games and Stoinis out tonight hurt, but the rest were horrible.
OKeefe bowling hand grenades in the first over. 2 for 4. Stars are in for a very long season.
So in the midst of our most prestigious and anticipated test series in years we halt the Sheffield Shield so this garbage can take place.
Should just play the SS and if the BBL has weakened teams bad luck

The BBL season is too long and this will hurt the T20 format and weaken our test team at the same time. The T20 season should start about the 20th Dec.

We have terrible management who never put together decent balanced teams.
Doesnât help that the few experienced players we have go to water under pressure
I like T20, but itâs clear the cricket schedule worldwide is way too crowded and out of whack to accommodate T20 at the expense of test cricket.

50-over Cricket is bad enough but Big Bash League is a travesty. To call it the Macdonalds of Cricket would be to praise it way too highly. Itâs the Cricket equivalent of blowfly food.

20/20 is here to stay. Boomers need to get used to it. I donât particularly enjoy it either but itâs the only form of cricket that 95% of cricket fans worldwide are watching.
Clear the schedule by getting rid of 50 over cricket if necessary.
