The 2022 Cricket Thread officially here (Part 3)

That’s a bit better…

Should be home from here surely.

Renegades are home here. If Warner is cooked, Finch is charcoal

Haha to be fair to Finchy, the end justifies the means if he’s there at the end and the Gades win.

Finch to block out the last over?

Good win considering their top 4 gave them absolutely nothing.

Finch played the right role but needed to turn the strike over a bit more throughout the innings.

But that was a genuinely enjoyable game of cricket to watch.

They are commentating from Sydney. Sports should make it compulsory for tv networks to have their commentary teams at games not in a tv studio.

Finch was pretty important. Two games in a row he’s nursed us across the line

In the end it all worked out for Finch, but his knock was a tough one to watch.

I did enjoy Hosein’s cameo very much. A bit of luck with skied shots falling between fielders, but some clean hits made it a good one.

Finch was trying to turn over the strike for his big hitter, but there were way too many dot balls. He has to be trying to score every ball, be it a 4 or a single to rotate the strike. For much of the time, he was playing it like a test innings, just trying to rotate the strike rather than looking to score whichever way. He looked way too passive until the last 2 overs.

They are both shockers. Neither seem to have a clue what is going on. And BJ has this ability to declare what is about to happen and the complete opposite actually takes place. Shocking commentators and I am stunned they have jobs.

Brett Lee at the start of the last 3 overs of the match: “I think something is about to happen here”. No shyte Sherlock, it is a T20 and the last 3 overs and they needed to score sixers to win.

I agree ……you’d think BJ would be half decent at this kind or role seeing he’s been doing it for 10 years ……Alan Border is the best along with Gilly …….I still miss Warnie :smiling_face_with_tear:

Guys you need to remember what BJ brings to the table. He’s arguably Australia’s greatest tourist since Keith Miller. His team mates loved getting front and centre to BJ when on tour.

I believe that his commentary role continues to exist for similar reasons. It’s not what he brings to the table in the box, rather it’s who he brings to the table when in the bar.

Rain in Sydney (surprise surprise) delaying the BBL start.

Brett Lee would have to be the worst commentator I’ve ever heard.

If he’s on I flick to 7 and watch with ads.

Deplorable

Brendon Julien is up there. Shows no real awareness of what just happened.
