I love confidently wrong statements.
Melbs has concerns that Kosi Pickett will leave next year.
I think Lindsay will jump into the top 6 or 7.
It’s time to spread rumors that his ankle is stuffed
You can’t have seen the @noobermensch video (7min) of his GF performance - on ball. He sure wouldn’t be a liability outside 50 based on that vision.
Was that the 5 goal game?
From Twomey’s latest article. Provides some helpful context for their apparent interest in Kako. Hope we don’t deal with them.
The Demons are actively pushing for another early selection in this year’s draft to go with their No.5 pick.
Essendon will look at ways to push up the board from their No.9 spot to get ahead of a bid on Next Generation Academy talent Isaac Kako, but will also consider pushing back down the order or shifting picks into next year.
Clubs, including Melbourne, are expected to come hard at the Bombers for the No.9 pick using future first and second-round selections, which would open the door for Essendon to slide out and match Kako with later picks. – Callum Twomey
He also says Laverde is likely to stay at Essendon as there are “no firm suitors”.
Surprise surprise a terrible-kicking, brain-farting defender is not in demand.
No.
The GF he was more midfield and got a fair bit of the ball (27 touches maybe?) Was GWR best on.
The videos are very impressive
This could be like a couple of years ago when we should have taken the Melbourne offer instead of selecting tsatas. We should consider a future first and future second next year as we are basically getting a first rounder on the cheap this year anyway, plus the depth of this draft allows us to get some good talent with later picks we acquire.
I like the idea of going into next year with a really strong draft hand (two firsts and two seconds) Melbourne won’t make finals they’re a mess. I feel like you need that strong draft every few years where you bring in a lot of talent at once. In saying that, if we had that amount of high currency, brad would probably wanna ■■■■ it up the wall for some solid C grader under contract at another club anyway.
The other thing i don’t get is stringer for pick 54, what’s the point? Just hold him, play him in the two’s as backup if we wanna change the forward mix, he’s only on 450k. Seems a dumb deal if we don’t acquire a pick at least in the 40s.
From the videos I’ve seen posted on this thread I’m not seeing Kako as atop 10 worthy selection. If some other team does, good luck to them. It means that a very handy player may slip through to us.
He is the best small fwd in it, we need him more than anyone.
Interesting. Our best outcome is probably still if we can use the pick before a Kako bid comes, so hopefully that’s still on the table.
Sounds a bit like Dees saying trade 9 with us or we might just bid on Kako.
I see that as well - I want him to be but…
teams would love for us to use 9 on kako means some very good players will slide
Can at least hear what the Dees and Saints are offering for 9. Gold Coast are getting some pretty juicy bids for 13.
If we are trying to move pick 9 in any way it should be up the order, but I wouldn’t be getting rid of a 1st round pick next year to do so, that’ll backfire spectacularly when we finally have our bottoming out year.
I’d try and get pick 6 of GC for a '25 second rounder and pick 9, maybe convince them to trade some later picks for some mutually beneficial points
You will not get 6 from the GC because it is tied to their pursuit of Rioli.
Pick 6 for Rioli is utter garbage trading by GC.
