Would love another highly rated small forward alongside Kako so any combination is good. I like the sound of Berry more than Hannaford purely because experts say he’s one of the best inside 50 kicks around and just sounds like a natural forward.
Yeah ■■■■■■■ painful. Trying to copy the NFL who have 7 rounds with 32 selections per round. It so bad it’s completely turn me off watch the draft now.
The longer the draft lasts for, the more views my channel gets.
I propose we move to a draft week, have the teams take 10 picks per day and give everyone a chance to look up videos on those 10 for the next 24 hours.
Yep it’s good for business. When do the players come back to training? I always thought it was intentional that the trade week and draft basically filled that month or two when the players were away on leave, overseas or whatever.
These days you have to keep your audience engaged for as many months of the year as possible, otherwise they might flip over to something else and never come back.
Draper is seriously quick, so quick he gets close to oncoming traffic fast and handballs a lot, I wonder if this is something he’s working on, balancing to kick when he finds himself with grass in front?
Are the player comparisons a bit more ‘over the top’ than previous years?
Maybe it’s the writer, but it feels like they pumping up a greater number of players than normal. And fully understand this is a ‘deep’ draft. Almost every player in the top 50 is a top 5 to 10 player in their team prospect which is highly unlikely.
Will need to read the descriptions a bit more to see if the description matches the player comparisons.
The comparison isn’t intended to pump up the player (I suppose it depends on the author, but 99% of the time anyway). Its not a 1 to 1 comparison. Its used to give the reader an idea of the type of player they are, the kind of role they might play at the next level.
For example, giving a comparison of Sam Lalor to Dustin Martin. Nobody is likely actually be the next Dusty. Instead its intended to give you an idea of his playstyle/type. A big and powerful mid/forward who loves a fend off and can produce x-factor.
Ha, I just came into this thread to say something similar. According to this list there’s probably 15 guys who are expected to go in the top 10 and 30 who are expected to go in the first round. Very few are expected to go below the ranking attributed to them. It’s all a bit too over the top. I understand the rating is not meant to be a list of where they will get drafted, but suggesting that every player (except Ashcroft) will get drafted higher than their “ranking” doesn’t really work …
Probably the intent, and the way it’s worded for guys beyond 20, but they link a bunch of them to Richmond’s pick or Melbourne’s pick or whatever.
I think my takeaway, and haven’t read anything on this draft yet, is that there are a bunch of good players, who are mostly 180cm tall, with the taller players being a bit less rated, and so teams that grab them earlier could throw the order out the window.
