And we did sweet ■■■■ all about it until last year, we let this arsehat run the joint unopposed for years while he held the club to ransom. What a ■■■■■■■ disgrace, I’d rather welcome Stephen Dank back through the doors at the hangar than this charlatan.
LOL. There is no evidence that anything has changed. Dodoro may have played this draft exactly the same. We don’t even know on types if this was Rosa’s long-term preference or just best available this year.
So many Blitzers desperate to say everything has changed, off a sample of one which, where even that sample doesn’t say/prove half of what they think claim it does.
But heh, if we lie enough about what came before it will make the future look rosy.
The one thing I am certain of is that The Dudmeister would not have played this draft the same. You just need to look at his histroy to show that over the 20 odd years he was in charge things did not change, he was very predictable. Even if our selections this year don’t work out, people need to understand that most draftees either don’t make it or are just average, i believe that we are now on the way back and this draft period has been a very positive one. Rosa has done a fantastic job in his first solo year. For the first time in a long time I am really looking forward to the future.
How are these selections that different to Dodorro picks? Gerreyn has significant similarities to Cox and was just about the last key forward available. Clarke is meant to be a Redman clone. Etc. Hell, half the late picks are upside selections that Blitz was often annoyed Dodoro took.
We may be in a new era. We may not. But the evidence of change is so small it is sad to see Blitzers grasping at straws.
We’re a chance to win a final in the next 20 years.
For one thing, they have pace, not something the Dud was all that concerned about. Also it is not just the selections, it was the whole draft which resulted in a vastly improved draft hand than what we started with, and also included additional picks in 2025. Cannot remember the dud ever getting rd 1 & 2 future picks.
Gerreyn has no similarities to Cox.
I truly don’t know if dodoro ever worked out how the points system worked, that’s a start.
It’s as much about the players chosen as the fact we even managed to land the picks needed to have a crack at them in the first place without mortgaging future drafts.
Our hand may have been forced to a degree but given the ■■■■ position he had to start with Rosa nailed this draft.
I think you just said in a sentence what i rambled on about lol
This is why I like our draft and trading period, we haven’t got all hot and bothered by some shinny toy, played the numbers and been future focussed.
In the past i felt we just be damned the future and look for instant solutions which has left big holes and a constant chasing our past decisions.
It’s the kinds strategy execution we have been crying out for a long time.
You expressed it far better than my word salad.
They are both tall, have hair, two arms and two legs, two feet, some teeth and two eyes.
They have plenty in common…
You have nailed the point obout playing the numbers. I am not certain that you mean we have played the numbers by drafting more players than we normally do. The fact that we took 5 in the main draft and a rookie, most with pace ( not sure about the pace of 2 dads), and no recycled players I believe shows a real future based strategy, I believe that the modern draft is so compromised and there are so many clubs picking you really need to take as many players as you can, 5 or more every year as the chances of finding a gem is getting harder each year.
Most are good kicks for starters
The fact you’re drawing even the vaguest comparison between Gerreyn and Cox has me questioning your perspective on anything.
Gerreyn is a skillful athletic ruckman with sticky hands.
Cox is a wingman in a key position players body who 100% relies on his engine to find the footy.
The only similarity is they are both nudging 200cm and adept kicks on both feet.
Ah the good old sliding doors argument! Sorry you will never convince me that Dodoro would have turned picks 9 and 28 into 13,37,39, F1 and a F2.
Gerreyn is big and solid and seems to want to throw his weight around, Cox not so much.
