The 2024 Draft [no longer spec] Thread

Your being a bit resultist.

I’ve turned into nino.

I just believe Houston is a better player and I reckon most would say the same

Exactly . You just prefer Houston because his footballing provides better results.

Best we could possibly hope for us a future second from the saints I think. Even then, they’d probably want something back

Posting this here as there’s a chance this guy is available at our pick.

Its been a theme that the kids playing VFL come back to the Talent League chock full of confidence and turn in a ripper performance, and Harvey Langford was no different. He was relentless and beastlike around the stoppages, damaging with the footy outside of the contest, strong overhead and slotted four goals to round things off and help his team get the win.

What would cause him to slip? Seems to have some pretty standout qualities. 190cm too.

Super stinky 20m sprint and agility times in pre-season testing. He has the widest draft range in the pool depending almost entirely on his combine results.

I could see him going anywhere from pick 1 to pick 20.

Yep i think he’ll be the one that slides coz it’s not fashionable to be your slower big bodied mid these days. He reminds me of Jack McRae. I also don’t think Essendon will take him, we don’t like guys that are just good footballers, we prefer athletic upside. Unless of course that changes now Adrian isn’t around.

Of the Barossa variety?

hobbs and parish are legitimately on the list

Wow if he does that would be a huge bonus.

Thanks for naming two players on a list of 40 odd. I could give you the example of Cox, Reid and Perkins in the one draft if you like.

It’s almost as stupid as your earlier comment that i should research every vfl player shanahan played on, when i was referring to recruiters needing to do their due diligence on it.

We probably don’t need any more slowish midfielders right?

Perkins is your quintessential half forward flanker. How did he have athletic upside? And how does Reid qualify?

We don’t need midfielders full stop.

A later small forward option if we go a different direction with our first pick and still want to add another one.

Jesse Dattoli has been flying somewhat under the radar this season but he finds himself in good form ahead of a big finals campaign with a chance to really push himself up the draft order. He started slowly in this game, fumbling a couple of times and not seeing much of the ball in the opening quarter as his team fell well behind on the scoreboard. He started the second quarter in the center bounce and from there he lifted himself and his team as they gradually fought back in the game. He showcased his strong marking for his size, powerful movement and solid skills, not to mention his ability to hit the scoreboard through set shots or opportunistic snaps.

In the next couple of years we absolutely need a gun midfielder from the draft
