Pick 6 for Rioli and pick 10 for Liam Baker is straight up bullshit. I know essendon overrate their players value but Rioli is no more than a late first round, early second round pick
We should have a look at this guy with a late or rookie pick.
Put together a really good season for Norwood.
2 firsts for Rioli is absurd, 1 at most. 10 for baker is absurd, 2nd round imo. 2 1st for Bolton is very generous, 1st and second more reasonable
1, 6, 9, 21,22,23,29 more likely imo.
They probably then try to bundle those seconds to get higher up the draft or into next year.
Take note Rosa
would barham brad and vozzo accept that assessment of the lists current quality?
Part of the reason why this is such a unique opportunity for Richmond is who the bidders are for these guys. The planets have aligned perfectly to have the interested parties, Fremantle and Gold Coast, be flush with first round picks and for varying reasons both be willing to pay overs if need be.
Gold Coast because well, it’s Gold Coast and they pay overs for anyone wanting to go there and also because they have a heap of young talent there already and are looking for senior heads. They know they have Lombard to come as well.
Fremantle because they have a strong core that is established and they are now in a position to layer in some stars to go to the next level.
Freo Draft hand: 9,10,17,27 plus futures
Gold Coast Draft hand: 6,13,20,26 plus futures
Well have our answer in 6 weeks I guess.
Do we trade out Langford?
Do we bring in FAs?
Do we tread water?
I think we had our answer last year with 3 FAs and a traded in mature player.
Yes but opinions may have changed.
Right…?
A board so desperate for success no shortcut is off-limits, is going to admit that 12 months ago the direction it set was wrong?
The board won’t but there’s a chance Scott might decide he had to blow the place up because they just embarrassed him and he convinced the board.
I concede it’s unlikely.
But Scott will dig his own grave of he doesn’t change gears, maybe he sees it, maybe he doesn’t
I dont think scott has the gravitas and league wide clout to do so, hes not 3x premiership coach dimma hardwick. hes basically david moyes of the afl, ‘yeah did a lot with not much at everton’ and this is his manchester united era to show hes not that good
Gold Coast had 10 years worth of that many draft picks yet they are still middle of the road.
I be very shocked if they nailed all those picks they will pick a few duds also they cant have a team full of draftees they will need to bring in some senior experienced players and might need to use some of those picks
closer to success than we are, our list is ■■■■■■■ deplorable
That’s a chilling analogy
sorry i guess
well you got your answer ivan, they like this list
Yes but Hardwick will be happy to do Richmond a solid I suspect
Gold Coast because well, it’s Dimma and he has 80% of his premiership list and is looking for the last 20%.
Interesting the great Damian Hardwick struggled to turn the suns fortunes around at all in his first year, despite an absolute abundance of talent on their list. It’s a similar situation to us, it takes years to change a terrible long term entrenched loser culture, no matter who the coach is.
On another note, this was a good description of the weekend’s games.
