They can’t afford Collingwood to have any bad years such is the fragility of the ‘W’ league. They desperately need Collingwood lifting the competition.
If we have another bad year next year we should ask for assistance.
It’s a joke.

No part of the EFC will ever be treated fairly by the AFL. We will permanently be punished for the saga.
And the three teams below them…?
I can’t understand it
I seriously wonder if it’s a symbol of the leagues effort to ensure it has a successful Collingwood to drag it to new heights.
Two of them (GWS and GC) got assistance packages. GWS got given pick 3.
Just came into here to post about this. Nothing for Essendon because of a couple of wins early. Collingwood gets assistance, even though they were 4th bottom, and the two interstate strugglers get assistance.
At this point they’re not even trying to cover their real feelings.
Gold Coast have a boatload of academy picks coming through, I’m sure they will be fine.
GWS do genuinely need the help, though.
Does Gold Coast even have the points to take the players (roughly) ranked 1, 3, 4, and 6?
This assistance is at the very opposite end of what they need right now.
Oh well.
They can trade out some of their few valuable players to be ready, and perhaps go backwards in the short term.
The GWS GIANTS will receive:
- Pick 3 in the 2025 Telstra AFLW National Draft (currently pick 3) and pick 19 in the 2026 Telstra AFLW National Draft (end of first round selection).
The Gold Coast SUNS will receive:
- Two additional list spots for the 2026 and 2027 NAB AFLW Seasons.
Collingwood will receive:
- Two additional list spots for 2026 NAB AFLW season and one additional list spot for 2027 NAB AFLW season.
I think for AFLW academy you just need a pick in the round they were bid on. So I guess they need to go shopping for first rounders.
Weston-Turner (WB) nominates North Melbourne as her destination club.
FFS. The strong get stronger.
We can’t even attract flies at the moment.
Apparently we are in the hunt for Brooke Barwick (WB), Taylor Smith (BL), and Zoe Prowse (ADEL).
Any of the three would help address some clear list needs.
Adelaide / the AFL code monkeys should probably check her official bio:
In 2024, she played every game, averaging 9.5 disposals at 67.7 per cent efficiency, 3.5 spoils AND 21 TACKLES.
(it’s actually 2.1)
Also, another LOL at the AFL code monkeys for their mathematically-creative career average of Kiara Bower’s tackles:
A lot of money is spent collecting these stats, and zero brainpower in compiling and presenting them.
Zoe Prowse has requested a trade to Essendon.
Decent broad article on us. Would absolutely take Dupuy to give us a big marking forward.

ESSENDON has won the race for Adelaide youngster Zoe Prowse, who loomed as one of the biggest names still to decide upon her future leading into the start of this week’s AFLW Trade Period.
Prowse – who is uncontracted at Adelaide – had interest from Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne, Hawthorn and West Coast among a host of other clubs but is understood to have now nominated Essendon as her preferred home for 2026.
A former first-round pick at the Crows, Prowse has emerged as one of the AFLW’s best key defensive prospects across her first 47 games for the club and won the side’s Best Defensive Player Award in both 2023 and 2024.
Prowse’s commitment is a huge boost for a Bombers outfit that finished 4-8 this season, with the club expected to be aggressive ahead of the upcoming AFLW Trade Period that starts on Thursday.
Gold Coast pair Claudia Whitfort and Jacqui Dupuy have also been linked to Essendon, while the club had interest in Western Bulldogs youngster Brooke Barwick though she now appears destined to stay at the Whitten Oval.

The Bombers currently have picks No.6, 24, 42 and 60, as well as a full suite of future selections, to use in trade negotiations for Prowse while the club has also been actively monitoring the market around further pick swaps.
Taylor Smith has requested a trade to Sydney.
great news on Prowse. Was getting concerned we weren’t targetting anyone.
wonder how much influence Cam Joyce is having on the pursuit of Whitfort and Dupuy given both had arguably career best seasons under him at GC
Has the AFL announced delisting dates?
Surely we still have people to cut between trade week (is actually a week!) and draft.
Very exciting ![]()
