So if my maths is correct there’s at least one more to be cut (need to have two slots going into the draft).
Peter Williams basically ANNOUNCED Amy Gaylor was being taken by us months in advance, so perhaps has some idea (in which case, no Chloe Baker-West).
Retaining Pick 6 is a crucial one for the Bombers who have some great potential in adding a top-end talent to the list. Essendon has been linked to a pair of West Australians with the selection, being West Perth’s Mia Russo and Peel Thunder’s Evie Cowcher. Both add key needs to the Bombers through the midfield and defence respectively, and are past MVP winners and of course, All-Australians.
Russo brings power from the contest and will add the toughness of Madison Prespakis, while Cowcher is a unique addition who complements Essendon’s selection last year in Taya Chambers. Given the Bombers have opted for speed and athleticism in recent times, expect that to continue, and if not already off the board, bids on Sunny Lappin and Alex Neyland could be good shouts.

Very different opinion to Peter Williams, with Cowcher and Russo at 19 and 22.
If it happens I already have key articles to quote already prepared in the VFLW threads…
EDIT: Sarah Black also has her as a high chance for us (along with Russo).

Of players who’ve been linked to us with our pick 6 I like the sound of any of Bowering, Russo, Baker-West or Johnstone roughly in that order (Russo and Baker-West sound the most likely). Also like the sound of McMillan or Eaton but haven’t seen them linked to us, but likely in our range. Lots of options that sound pretty good, would seem a little strange to me to use a high pick on another key defender (Cowcher) just after bringing in Prowse

I am assuming we have cleared enough list spots for 2 draftees tonight?
So we’re just taking pick 6 and 49 to the draft. Just slightly odd that as part of the Prowse deal we traded up from pick 60 to 50, but are not actually going to use that pick 50. Sounds like the draft might not go that deep but still seems a bit odd given that move. Also don’t think it’s been confirmed yet who the final delisting is to free up that second draft spot?

Maybe we missed the bit after from the ‘you only need to draft one player’ … ‘but need to take two slots into the draft’.
Of course, the idea that we can be “fixed” by trading in one player and drafting one player (even if it is CB or CB-W) also seems a bit far-fetched. Gough might need to kick 20 goals to make us relevant.

If it’s an actual last-minute change, nuts. If it’s orchestrated theatre, some people would be annoyed to have their predictions cascadingly mocked.

LOL, Norf predicted to get previous #1 draft pick Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner for free a la Paige Scott (well, pick 37). Hopefully the reason she played relatively few games at Footscray over the last two years was because she was irretrievably ■■■■.

I’m no expert here but the way she has effectively hidden herself away from the other clubs to discourage them from bidding on her feels somewhat like draft tampering here…
