Yeah I always fridge mine. But I can enjoy it at room or cellar temp, which i think is like around 10c maybe?
I try to keep the fridge in the shed not too cold as a rule. Ice cold beer always sounds nice, but all it does is camouflage the flavour.

Lot of interesting comments on instagram.
The $30m super figure is in reference to people who had been convinced to put their super into Falcon capital who they held the loan with more so than FF themselves.
I think I want the Castlemaine Love Shack Brown Ale to be my new life partner.
I just dont know how to break the news to Mrs Dogga…or Coopers Dark Ale for that matter…
Probably tried to get too big too soon. Maybe should have just stayed down here for a few more years. Daughters partner has a lot to do with them but he’s staying tight-lipped at the moment. Owed a few bob.
Theres a chance it pulls through, the administrator needs to find a buyer and a new line of credit to replace the magical pixie dust credit that they had been operating with.
Hope they go ok. The bars down here in Moonah and Hobart are a good night out.
@hambo these are right up your alley. Only got a small taste of the empathy but it was awesome. $150 at carrwyn I am told ![]()
I was gonna say, an Anchorage/Horus collab would set you back.
Yeah a mate bought it to the bar tonight. Who would’ve thought far side beers is byo ![]()
Crikey! I’m enjoying a Bright Brewery Maple Affogato Stout, an upgrade on their regular Affogato.
Nice!
Bought by Mountain Culture, including their subsidiaries (Carwyn Cellars).
One of these days I’ll actually go to Darker Days in Bright, and drink copious amounts of the Affogato while watching stuff burn.
One day…
Good news there. Sounds like venue staff will keep their jobs and there will be a thinning of the herd in production and admin teams.
First of the beers I’ve grabbed for myself for my birthday this weekend.
Wife and the middle child commenced vomiting about an hour ago so the best thing I could do for myself was crack this tin and tee up a fire in my bogan burner, which is loaded with whisky barrel staves. I’m hopeful I’ll have joyful reasons to have a dram or two later on so the gingerbread stout seemed like a good choice. There’s loads of ginger. Like a lot. They’ve listed fresh ginger as an addition but I do wonder if they’ve also used the gingerbread malt gladfield have been offering for a couple of years now. It’s got all the mouthfeel of a big stout (13.8%) but it’s probably lacking a bit of malt backbone for mine. Its not bad, but it’s not mind blowing either.
It’s very much up my alley for an imperial stout. It’s got balanced bitterness over a long, lengthy finish. Loads of caramelised sugar, coffee and dark cocoa. A great beer for a fire, particularly after a dram of the sherry cask finish from Lime burners.
Update:
Carwyn Cellars is back in the hands of its founders after Ben and Nicole Carwyn bought the business from Mountain Culture, who in turn had acquired the bar and bottleshop from administrators as part of the sale of Fox Friday.
The chat is that there was a few parties that were only interested in Fox Friday’s Melbourne brewery and taproom, but Mountain culture were the only party entertaining buying the lot. Which does make me wonder if they’ll break up more of the assets yet.
