The concert and gig thread

Oh, snap! This came up on my shuffle playlist in the car only an hour or so ago.

It’s their contribution to the largely excellent “If I Were A Carpenter” tribute album from 1994.

How are Jawbreaker sounding these days? Very underappreciated at the time. The “sellout” ■■■■ they copped for Dear You was OTT…

Clearly I keep visiting Japan at the wrong time.

Or I’m not ITK like you

They sounded great. A few songs were slightly slowed down but perhaps by choice, as they could belt it out when they needed to.

Come out for this one!

I’ve said it a few times but it’s worth saying again.

Saw Circle jerks a couple of years ago at the Forum. Can’t say I was across their entire discography, but they were really good.

Was great to see Hetson outside of Bad Religion.

Keith does a fair bit of rambling between tracks though, so a bit hit and miss.

I’m pretty sure Counting Crows are touring and also how dare you.

Not my cuppa Twinings at all.
Found them horribly beige.
And they needed to be soundly thrashed for that lounge muzak version of Big Yellow Taxi

More of a Crash Test Dummies man, I presume?

I appreciate that the main CTD dude is a massive XTC fan, but… yeah, nah… it’s not enough to make me like them.

Eh.
It’s not their claim to fame, but I’m not bothered about them bringing that song to a new audience.

I genuinely adore their debut.

And…thank you, The Bear.

Still miles better than Dave no chin horse tooth wife cheater groul. Riding Kurt’s coat tails. He should stick to drumming and shut the ■■■■ up. Foo fighters are an embarrassment. I saw them here in 1995 and they are not the same band.

Yeah, not much of a FF fan myself either.
Liked the first couple of albums, but I haven’t heard anything from them in years that’s done anything for me. They seem to be just rehashing themselves with less and less returns.
Grohl’s caught the Jimmy Barnes disease, in that he screams these days more than sings.
I will say this though, Foo Fighters have recorded some decent covers over the years - thought their version of Down In The Park in particular was excellent.

I’ve always found them to be an okay band. I never felt compelled enough to seek out any records or see them live.

Decent version of Baker Street also

His covers of nirvana songs on the self titled album is what gave him a leg in the first place. Nearly ever song other than Big Me was a Nirvana rip off.

The best thing he ever did post Nirvana was playing drums on Somgs for the Deaf and his duo vocals on that one Them Crooked Vultures song

■■■■■■■ hell they are making a big deal out this Foo fighters concert, I would not cross the road to see them, I have relations in Tas all ringing me are you going let’s stay at your house etc are you exited..no, I may sit on my verandah and just listen to them .

So just going on bands I would like to see here does Faith no More still tour WTF happened to them I have been pumping their greatest hits and they have heaps

I read something a few months back that it seems unlikely they’ll play together again. That sucks, I’d love to see them again.
