We used that same argument to select Trevor Chappell and look where that got us.
FWIW, I would’ve picked Kellaway, but his time will come.
Still a little bit out but SACA forecast for first 4 days are 34,38,38 and 37.
I’d expect some decent bowling conditions on day 1 as they will have to juice up the pitch to get it through the test but by day 4 we should see some decent cracks open up
Have to play Lyon given that. GOAT.
Maybe his brilliance will get Neser another game in Adelaide. Do they like the idea of keeping the Bazballers anchored to the crease? I’d imagine it would be frustrating for those that like to advance.
When you see a keeper standing up to a medium/fast bowler it normally doesn’t look great for the bowler, but maybe it is an advantage in this case. I mean, Carey was just so damn good at it, that he makes it plausible.
In all the post match talk about the amount of preparation English bats did or did not do, no one has made mention of the move of the pink ball test to an earlier time slot on the touring schedule. As a strategy is was a brilliant move. Not only had some of the Poms never played a pink ball test, by moving it from Adelaide to earlier on the tour, the tourists had no time to adjust. Other tours have seen them have 2 tests during the day, before the pink ball test. Then you add in the common knowledge that Starc is the most experienced and best pink ball bowler of all time, and it makes their decision not to go to Canberra and get some pink ball experience under match conditions, all the more startling.
Their casual attitude and lack of real prep is actually astonishing. They are operating on another universe.
Death, taxes and Beth Mooney standing up when it counts. She’s gotten her team to another final. Two elimination finals and two player of the match awards.
I went along to North Sydney oval with my 12 year old daughter tonight. Mooney was playing at another level as was Alana King. Scorchers far too good.
Now that’s “marvellous” news for the tourists.
They’ll look forward to standing out in that for a few days like a hole in the head.
Has the prem requested a flatty so it goes the distance?
Also, political interference in pitch preparations is very Indian cricket areas. ![]()
The Prem won’t but CA and even the SACA on the other hand ![]()
The difficulty will be putting enough water in the pitch to get through potentially day 5 with the heat without putting in too much and having the pitch turn in to a bowlers paradise and losing 10-15 wickets on day 1
Stop talking about yourself in the 3rd person
Channel Seven cameraman was lucky not to be laid out.
Yeah same with the reporter from The Advertiser today that asked Stokes what sites he would be seeing in Adelaide - Poms acting like rattled buffoons.
England are on to it and it’s why they went to Noosa for heat training…
Thank God the weather in Perth this time of year is always amazing, or so many of the locals want us to believe.
I don’t know about the interview question, but the cameraman repeatedly, aggressively, got within arms length of the bodyguard after being told to keep a reasonable distance.
I’ve seen bodyguards make sure that ceases to happen after a warning, and rightly so.

The bloody reporters are getting in the road of a lovely Aussie holiday for these part time English cricketers.
They’re going to pick Uzi aren’t they ? What a stupid move if they do. I hope common sense prevails and they don’t pick Uzi.
