Pat hasn’t bowled well for a while and even then it was sparingly like the first two tests in England. He doesn’t take big wickets or take the game by the scruff of the neck like he did.

Im a Pom so id love to see more of it but this same Indian team just lost 3-0 at home to NZ.
Aus having a poor test but I wouldnt be writing their champions off just yet…

Fire the coach and replace the selectors. The preparation for this series has been abysmal and smacks of hubris. McDonald is a farking fraud. This performance is an embarrassment. How the coach and selectors didn’t see this coming should be enough to fire the lot of them. The batters should have been replaced gradually starting 18 months ago.

I would be batting until tea tomorrow and then put Australia in. It’s a long series against an older attack.

700+ lead leaving four sessions to get ten wickets might be a little overkill.
It’s not a pink ball Test, so I doubt it. Still 2 full days after this and as far as I can see there is no forecast rain. Keep batting and inflict some psychological damage and some physical and mental fatigue on Australia.

What XI would you have selected for this test match?
It’s about 35 out there at the moment. I think our next rain in Perth is due around Easter.

True, but it would give them a chance to really hurt the opposition at the start of the series and really wear them down

I get that, but geez you wouldn’t want to have the match drawn with the Aussies at 9 fer.
