Hotspot isn’t being used.

Because they are misogynistic nuffies.

I had no idea Max Holloway was a cricket fan.

At all?
Fair enough. It’s dodgy AF.

Edit: I mean…

No, I’m retracting that.
It’s useful to show a positive as long as…as I said…they don’t use it to show lack of a positive proves a negative.

yep 100%, I think thats why Pat also mentioned clarity, and I believe no hotspot at all this summer as the geniuses at the ICC are asking the broadcaster to pay for it & this is the kents at C7 after all, so yes the tech they would use for decisions is being put onto those paying for the rights who are cheaping out, such a great situation

Not sure hotspot is used anymore for DRS at all. I think there were some doubts regarding some players having tape on the edges of the bat that the hotspot wouldn’t show, and also I read that it was the TV networks that would supply it, not the governing body of the host nation, which to me is ridiculous. If it’s used as part of a decision making process, it should be be incumbent on TV networks to supply…

Only Australia really used it that much and mainly because C9 invented it and used it. It is extremely unreliable and overly costly. C7 had no interest in funding it either.

I’d be interested to see if hotspot showed the edge that clearly showed up as a mark on the bat.

But I suppose we’ll never know.

A lot of the arguments I have seen from Indians is that they know he hit it but because it didn’t show up on snicko he shouldn’t be given out.

There is an Elaine from Seinfeld scene that sums it up but I can’t find it. :slightly_frowning_face:

A lot of it is grief and desperation and again, I don’t think we should be pretending Australian fans are angels.

Or that the worst Indian, or any nation’s, people on the internet are representative of the whole.

It’s happened before and will happen again. She copped some awful stuff after the WC

I don’t know about Mrs Cummins, but I wouldn’t mind betting that Mr Cummins has copped worse abuse online from Australians.

Hang it in the Louvre.

Also…I think Cummins and Sharma should come together now and publicly try to calm things down.

If ever a man deserved to be booed, it’s Siraj, but for the game’s sake it should stop.

@wimmera1 former test umpire Simon Taufel explained that if the 3rd umpire has video evidence the ball hit the bat or gloves then snicko is not needed - ie it’s irrelevant in that situation. The third umpire saw with his own eyes what we all saw - the ball hit the bat then touched the gloves - no need to go to snicko

Wow that is rich coming from Navjot Sidhu given his track record including spending time in prison for being implicated in a man’s death.

I don’t think anyone here is arguing the decision.
You can’t really blame the third umpire for looking for extra confirmation that he totally expected to see, even if it was against protocol.

I can answer this. Many tickets are given out to corporate sponsors, but often these people are working, so don’t turn up to a full day every day of the test.
Others are then priced out of the remaining available tickets.

The TV viewership numbers of Indian home games are insane though

Yep mate at work says in some cases its well in excess of a weeks wages for a single day of test. If you want to take a family its close to a months wage.

That’s absolutely ■■■■■■!
