Yeah I reckon we should hopefully be home now which I’m thrilled about. I wouldn’t have been as dismissive of their chances given their record out here and the lack of form of a lot of our guys but ultimately they have a few cooked batsmen themselves and Shami not being able to support Bumrah has left too great a workload for him. I wonder whether he even has it in him to play in Sydney now?
Just like your Essendon predictions, I’ll always be pleased if your confidence is eventually validated!!
It’s a tricky situation in India. If they made ticket prices affordable for the masses, or say they let people in for free for a session like we used to do, there’d likely be a stampede/riot/crowd crush. Not impossible to manage but It would be very difficult.
Prices are kept high so the middle/upper classes can attend and the masses can not.
But McDonald insists Marsh’s place in the Test team is not under threat and that his limited overs this series has nothing to do with lingering injury concerns.
“There’s no concern. And I think people have probably been reading too much into that,” McDonald said.
“We haven’t required him with the ball as often as what we would have thought.
“He bowled again (on day five). His speeds were up in the high 120s, there are no injury concerns there.
“So I think to sort of head down that angle is a little bit unfair.
“We just haven’t required him at certain times for whatever reason. So that’s more a tactical implementation, as opposed to a body.”
“He’s in a good space,” McDonald added. “Would he like better performances? There’s no doubt about that. Over four Test matches, he hasn’t been able to deliver at the level he would like and we would like. But yeah, I mean, he’s up and about.”
Talk about living in a deluded world. Up and about? Is he on crack?
I took it as knowing that occasion was out but poorly worded attempt to ask when and where is the line with tech on reviews, which I think even Cummins hinted at wanting to know now
Not taking it well. Wonder what Navjot thinks about Vi🐀 deliberately causing a physical confrontation with Konstas. Does that “augur well for the gentleman’s game”?
Need to watch the highlights tomorrow as I couldn’t see a second of the game, but listening to the cricket while camping is a fantastic way to follow a test. And this one came across audio as an absolute belter.
His partner and that of Cummins have been bombarded with misogynistic comments. Really bad stuff too. Not sure why they are going after the players partners?
I think that’s fair, but common sense must prevail.
Nobody completely trusts snicko, or hotspot, or ball-tracking.
This isn’t just Australian. If it was an Australian batsman and he got cleared because the snicko didn’t show anything, I’d be saying that’s wrong but we move on. As you have to.
Lack of a positive doesn’t mean a negative, especially when you can see with your actual eyes what happened.
Interesting that they haven’t shown hotspot.
I assume there’s nothing there either or they’d show it and put it to bed (not that it would convince anyone who didn’t believe at this late stage).
I don’t know if it hit his glove. Maybe.
But it definitely hit his bat.
