Sunny is a clown.

A batting great but a clown.

You expect what he does with the ball, but the amount of times he digs us out of the ā– ā– ā– ā–  with the bat, that shows what a great player he is under pressure. Does whatever the team needs. Only Lillee and McGrath are better than him in terms of fast bowlers the past 50-60 years.

The SCG pitch is not a drip in ? Is that correct? What are they doing differently so that it doesnā€™t spin as much as it once did. I have no problem in returning the SCG to its former glory as a spinnerā€™s wicket

Was he motm?

Yes.

Just because itā€™s illogical. If the ball hits the bail. itā€™s out, just as much as hitting the stump.

No. Itā€™s not drop in.

They resurface the centre square every year

He scored the 3rd most runs in 2024, if that isnā€™t a fantastic year- Iā€™m not sure what is

Because he literally had the most innings of any player. His average is by far the worst of anyone in the top 10, bar Pope another player who is only there from weight of innings played.

Youā€™re being disingenuous.

EDIT: Ingland played 17 tests in 2024.

India 15, Kiwis 12. Everyone else 10 or below. Letā€™s be real here.

He had a decent year in a year where there were no other stand outs.

I had to do some long distance driving by myself last week and listened to Howie Games eps with Maxwell, Labuschagne and Head. What came across with all of them is how much they all love each other and how tight-knit the group is. That can go a long way and I understand why they would give players every possible chance to come good. Whilst we keep winning we can afford that luxury.

I would be against this happening to India in this case as getting rid of Sharma would only improve their line up.

Maybe Australian should play more tests thenā€¦ but I canā€™t see a lot of your players being able to handle the workload

He had a fantastic year, to argue anything else is just arguing for the sake of it

Jaiswal had a fantastic year. Duckett played a lot of tests.

So to finish top 3 for most runs is not a fantastic effort? Got it

Not when you average 37 and your team plays 1.5-2x more tests than anyone else except India. Why are you being so obtuse?

In 2023 Straya had the top 4 run scorers in tests. Because we played more than anyone else. None of them had ā€˜fantasticā€™ years except Koala at 52. Lasagna came fourth averaging 35. Did he have a great 2023?
He came top 4 in runs scored, he must have!

I just find it funny when an England player does well, people find any reason to criticise it or downplay it

The lack of regard to pitch conditions and how they are prepared has always puzzled me. independent umpires were brought in to remove bias (or assumed bias) but the pitch conditions can have as much influence as umpires.

I guess, as always, money is the biggest influence on these decisions.

Any reason, like stats, facts, common senseā€¦ fck me Iā€™m done.
