I tried to read through it quickly but why can’t he play for Zim?

South Africa are ripe for the picking. Their batting relies too heavily on Devilliers and they don't have the depth to chase down big totals. If Srilanka can bat first and post a 300+ total, I cant see SA chasing it down.

Australia should also be wary of Pakistan. They are just so erratic and unpredictable. On paper the Aussies should smash them but Pakistan are a dark horse for mine.

Don’t be surprised if Amla suddenly finds form in the finals.

Looking at the espncricinfo site at the Australian world cup squad they have Smith down as an all rounder, Mitch Marsh, Maxwell and Faulkner as batsmen. Who puts this stuff together?

Shane Watson?

Finds form…didn’t he just smash 150 odd in his 2nd to last innings?

Short answer - he can, he’s not going to, he’s going to play under this rule in England.
I’ll leave it up to you to connect the dots as to who he is going to represent, eventually.

Yep. Just had to check that. Obviously I haven’t been keeping up.

He’■■■■■ a 150, a 65 & a 38 in his 6 knocks. Averaging 51 for the cup.
I’d hate to be “out of form” like that!

Didn’t Taylor have a dash at playing for Australia a few years back? He was certainly playing in Perth.

I thought that was Sean Irvine (after the Mugabe shit started to get out of control).
Married some cricket person’s daughter, Rod Marsh?

Mahmudallah closing in on a ton vs the Kiwis - 97 (off 109) in the 46th, Bangas are 5/240.
Kiwis have kinda stuffed it, 3 blokes bowled out, Southee’s bowled 9 and McClenaghan 7 - so someone has to bowl their first over, right at the death.

Bangas going OK too - 16, 8 & 14 off the last 3 overs.
They might get up towards 280 or so.

Kiwis made the call to bowl.

yeah Irvine played for WA and I think Andy Blignaut came out here and played a season or two as well (maybe for Tassie but I’m not certain)

Andy Blignaut! LOL there’s a blast from the past. Wonder what Heath Streak is up to these days?

6/272, Elliott had to bowl, 6 first ball, wicket 2nd.
Mahmudullah on 120.

Last over now

  1. Might be a game here?

Good for the Kiwi fans to see one of the real gun bats of the tournament in person.

289 after 50 overs. Crikey! McCullum will chase that down by himself in 30 overs!

Heath Hilton Streak ran a game reserve in Zimbabwe and was the national bowling coach for a while. What he’s doing right now…? No idea.

Which reminds me: I wonder what happened to Zimbo superstar Brian Vittori?
