Cheers for that. Interesting tracking sheet.
Of particular interest:
the two tracks of “data”. I assume this is the equivalent of “time code”, but this an album that came out in 1978, so would have been recorded around 1977-1978. I’m intrigued to know that data code was around then.
what on earth is “shot gun”? I assume it’s an amp of some sort rather than an actual gun.
no keyboards are listed, yet the song has obvious keys in it. I guess they must’ve been added post first stereo mix.
the toms, hi-hat and cymbals weren’t individually mic’d up (all must have been on the room L and R drums mics).

Yeah, I wondered if shot gun referred to the position of the room mic.
Edit: a google shows it may be the type of mic

So maybe Sir Joe is referring that one Swoodley.
I’m an expat who lives in Canada now, and things are a little "different"over here…
Hard disagree, and yet this tribute still feels appropriate.
Ok…I get that some of their albums aren’t everyone’s cup of tea (see what I did there ) …
But as a guy who likes singles, surely you appreciate songs like Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, Do It Again, Peg, Hey Nineteen and Reeling In the Years.
I’m sorry, I really don’t.
Yacht rock is daggy, but it’s still better than this. It’s…but you know how I feel…
Ok…last call for entries for the 1970s List
Please either submit your list or just let me know that you won’t be doing one for this decade.
Cheers

Reeling In The Years just came up on my Spotify, and let me say again.
I despise this band.
And this song.
A chorus that belongs as the intro of a late seventies/ early eighties sitcom.
I want to punch that chorus in the face.
God I hate it.
With such a passion.

Steely Dan are clearly too advanced for your simple tastes.

It’s not as bad as The Night Chicago Died.
My all time most hated song ever.
It’s not as good as I’ve Never Been To Me.

But it’s better than it’s stable mate, Billie Don’t Be A Hero.
