The Great Blitz Album Survey…Favourite Albums Across The Years…The 80s

The past year I’ve been trying to fill holes of music genres. Listened heavily to dance of the past 20-30 years and soul, funk and disco from 70s and early 80s. A lot of singles that I love…. Not many albums.

1981 was fantastic for my tastes. My 3 are strong faves in my whole collection, and lots left over.

Damn you Jez…I just had to go back and look at your 1981 choices…and then noting that I’d never heard of “This Heat”, let alone their album “Deceit” I thought "well… that can be the next album that I will listen to.

And so am currently listening to it.

No offence intended as we all have our own tastes…but this is deplorable…it would have to be the worst album I’ve listened to in ages.

And my personal rule of listening all the way through means I have to listen to it all. :sob: :sob: :sob:

So @swoodley whats the album you’ve liked the most you hadn’t heard after your not so sly way of obtaining everyone’s music?

None have made it to “the Playlist” but Moon Safari by Air is one I will go back to and might eventually make it’s way onto the playlist.

Have you heard is duet he did with Eddie Murphy?

All time classic in both life and DJ King folklore.

My girl wants to party all the time?
It was 2 am under the influence me and my partner had our headphones on and I played this through spotifys jam. I got out of the hammock to dance to the stars… with maybe 30 seconds to go of the song I turn around to see my partner crawling towards me… she had fallen out of her hammock and knocked out one of her molars… my girl wants to party all the time!

Story goes he had a 100k bet with Richard Prior as Prior didn’t think he could sing.

Yeah I wouldn’t think you’d be able to come at that from your tastes. Krautrock influence, experimental, bit early industrial. Very highly regarded in the post-punk sphere, but not an easy listen for the average punter.
