The OP calls for “favourite” albums, but it’s hard not slip into “best” territory, and raise something because you know it’s renowned, you know you’re supposed to love it, which may influence its placing.

Agreed. I’ve come to the conclusion if there’s 2 albums that I have in the maybe list, and 1 I know every word, and every transition from track to track, whereas I know the other is supposed to be better I’m going to choose the one that I’ve clearly lived with more over the time, even if my adult self is not sure that it’s as good
