Oh that’s gonna take a while.
And can I nominate albums I now find great or at the time? Cos some of my tastes in the early 90s at the time were terrible.

There are only are small handfull of things more sinister, more profoundly awful than the dark stain on humanity that is Matchbox 20.
Don’t worry about that…just about everyone here has put forward a bad album or two…not me of course…my selections were all awesome
It’s all just for a bit of fun to generate some discussion about music.
Even if/when we disagree, it’s generally pretty light hearted (unlike so many other threads)
I just looked at it from the perspective of what albums I would go to these days if I was listening to music from that time.
But at the end of the day, they’re your selections so do them however you want.
And if we didn’t do it that way we might be be struggling once the 60s comes round.
Except for you, Swoods.
Yeah…I remember sitting in the studio with John and Paul discussing the size of holes and how many it would take to fill The Albert Hall.
That could be part of the lyrics to LCD Soundsystem’s “Losing My Edge”.
“I was working on the organ sounds… with much patience.”
It has been a timely thread thanks @swoodley. I’ve been banished to the spare room with covid for the last few days.
That sucks. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Thanks mate.
It has been a walk in the park compared to the first time I had it. It’s almost like a mini holiday, **** posting on Blitz and streaming whatever I want.
The grebos, the crusties and the goths
And furthermore…
…'Cause I’ve slid down banisters for judges and barristers
readers wives husbands with toothless decay
I’ve been GBH’d and ABH’d
for a packet of B&H
I’ve been taken
and I’ve been driven away…
…struck down by the g force of a semtex surprise
he bucks like a seahorse keels over and dies…
…I do not think they asked why they were dying, but why they had ever lived.
All fairly miserable but “The Only Living Boy in New Cross” isn’t and it ends with the Impossible Dream.
Wow, this is difficult.

Well
Haha…I’ve just been getting my entries for 60s, 70s and 80s together.
The 70s were really difficult for me…so many great albums that didn’t make the cut.
I will have the same problem in the seventies, too much good stuff.
I went to a Matchbox 20 concert.
But full explanation: I was talking about music with my mate, and the conversation included Matchbox 20 and also a band called the Nixons. I said: “we should go.” He said: “I’ll get tickets.” I meant the Nixons; he thought I meant Matchbox 20. Their song “Busted” was actually pretty awesome live.
I find this extremely difficult to believe.
I’ve been looking at the 70s, cos I think I’ll need to listen to some albums I kinda know. My collection has a giant hole from around 73-76.
Wow…I have so many leftover from those years
Try as I might, I just can’t get that much in a bind about Matchbox 20.
I certainly don’t much like them and couldn’t name one of their songs, but they’re more beige/vanilla/off-white than detestable. Like Counting Crows. Or Hootie & The Blowfish. Or Train. Or Coldplay. Only they don’t have someone as punchable as Chris Martin out front (which does make Coldplay substantially more hateable than they’d otherwise be).
They’re like adverts on telly, or wait music when you’ve called an insurance provider. I just tune out. They’re the decaf soy milk latte of the music world. The tofu of the music world.
Plenty of others would be up against the wall before them when I have my day in charge…
