Rob Thomas best performance
Youve unintentionally and pefrectly articulated, then named and shamed a particularly loathsome genre/group of musical acts.
Excellent work.
I just cant stomach them. I’m fully aware that it’s irrational, but in a way, I find it all personally offensive.
I whince when I hear any of it. Sometimes, I even groan audibly.
Have you considered doing this ‘first reaction’ videos where someone played you a song that you’ve ’never heard before’ and then either love it or hate it?
Welcome to peak Prog Rock, not surprised you’ve got a hole there.
Just listen to Lou Reed, Can, Kraftwerk and Nue skip the rest.
1975 is actually awesome just looking at it.
There’s no either. Has to just be a roast channel.
Maybe first stage Prog Rock…certainly not peak imo.
When’s the peak?
Wait until you get to 1978… some brilliant stuff. 1979 possibly even better again…
Gerry Raffety - City to City!
Well for me…it’s post 70s when we started seeing bands like Marillion, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson, IQ, Anathema, Opeth, Airbag, Arena, Cosmograf and Riverside.
70s is traditionally Yes, early Genesis, King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Van Der Graaf Generator and Gentle Giant…none of which are well represented on my playlist.
What would you like it to be?
Can peaked 1971-72, Lou was great in 1972, then a mixed bag, Kraftwerk were kinda getting good but my fave stuff was still to come. Even Bowie was having a lull around 74/75. Neu I’ll need to look into again.
There are a few good ones, but 3 I can stand behind will be tough.

1979 possibly even better again…
Easily better, there are 10 classic albumns worthy of votes at first glance. The birth of Post Punk and New wave.

My collection has a giant hole from around 73-76.
the world needed some down time to prepare for the arrival of foghat
1979 and 1989 both have at least 4 genuine all-time albums for me. I’ll be hurting.

What would you like it to be?
Peos casts his vote for the 80’s…
