I’m thinking about an octafuzz. Any suggestions?

I like this guy (I know it’s more of a distortion and octave than a true fuzz).

Theres a few different types. Theres like the Hendrix type which is octave up with a fuzz as well. Then theres the lower octave ones. Or theres ones with both. The most famous one I think with both is the Boss brown coloured one. I have one of these:

It pretty much does it all. There’s no distortion in the lower, but a bit if grit un the upper that canbe dialed in or out if you open up the pedal. I think the newest model has more switches and tricks.

In my experience they (as in all octave pedals) respond better to single coils, neck position (up and low octave).

Overall its a great effect though. Especially upper octave. A lot dont know how to drive them, but once you get your head around em, theirs a lot of fun to be had.

I also recently acquired a Gretsch. Visiting my sis over new year and my BIL gave me a choice of one of his 2 resonators (the other a Dobro).

That’s a ripper. I don’t play guitar much (I’m a synth guy) but my son is a very good guitar player and he would definitely appreciate that wonderful Gretsch Bigsby setup for his birthday. Can I afford to buy him one?

Love my synths too. I’ve got a Sequential Prophet Rev2 and a Moog Sirin that I lplay around with.

Re the Gretsch, the Electromatic line is made in China, and is a lot less than their Japanese made guitars.

Having the Gretsch and some incentive to play slide, I recently discovered internally tapered slides. Good fit, nice weight.
