The Humble fish and chippery

We have the same problem here, can’t buy off the fisherman. It’s ridiculous.

Does sound like b/s. The San Remo Co Op down here sells fresh from the Co Op boats to Joe Public 7 days a week til 8pm. I’m heading over for a kilo of Flatty tails shortly.

Cajun crumbed flatty tails for dinner , . mmm, mm mm mm , mmm.

No problems buying fresh fish in Portland, there’s plenty around.

Sounds like b/s but there’s still no buying from the boats down on the wharf. The only guys who sell fish are the butcher (damn good butcher too) and IGA, but it’s a very limited range, and there are no restaurants specialising in seafood.

I live around there also. Try the place on Pascoe Vale Rd next time - the one near the cheesecake shop. Fish was good last time i went.

Grilled or battered Flake?

Grilled
ffs what is wrong with you?
Shouldn’t even be a question.

Just curious. Heard there is no real difference come calories as they smother the grilled flake in oil at most F&C

Not sure if serious… Hard to beat a good beer batter on the Noah.

Battered if its fish and chips. Pan fried in a bit of flour at home.

Ordering battered is worse offence than joining ISIS

People order grilled fish at a fnc? I always thought it was a joke, like the non alcoholic beer fridge in the Simpsons - it’s technically there as an option but no one has ever asked for it

At my local F&C its a popular choice… but to charge an extra 50c to dust some flake with flour and drizzle in oil is beyond a joke #stingy

I didn’t see any mention in the question about fish and chip shops.

Apart from the actual title of the thread…

Ah, ok.
I just responded to a question.

Ok - ‘Noah’ - ‘ark’ - ‘shark’ - ‘flake’?

Is it true that Noah’s wife was Joan of Ark?
