Yeah not the best to keep the weight off. Also my Dr a few years ago tried to take me off it and put me on something new when i was going through a bad patch. Thing with Avanza is that it has a sleeping agent in it. He put me on one theta didn’t. I didn’t sleep for 4 days and nearly went mad. He refused to give me a sleeping tablet to help with the transition. So I told him to fob off and went back on Avanza.
Yep. The overwhelming endless negativity in here can bring you down for sure.
I noticed it was making me feel like shitt a while back, so just stopped reading/posting in most footy related threads.
Negative people are a bore, and injurious to your own well being, … as they say. misery loves company, so they always try to bring you down to their level when you are being positive.
Fuckk them, use the Ignore feature, or just mute the threads.
I had a surprise proper engagement for my other half this weekend. It was such a wonderful day - I wore boardies, t shirt and thongs, everyone was casual as and I did a barbie. Did a talk off the cuff, a few people teared up, I proposed again and presented her with a garden bench I’d been working on all year.
I’m now faced with the reality of the next step - can’t even say the word. It’s feeling crippling and fk knows how I’ll get to the MC.
If his last name was hammer I’d be right.
Help.
Sounds like a ripper day. Congrats.
Yeah its very possible, will need to do it over a long period. Went on Dr orders
They want me to go onto Avanza…last time I did it just knocked me out at night and didn’t relieve the anxiety.
Reckon you could get a thrash concept album out of this
Started work on another album, but getting someone who can actually sing
Effexor’s not a bad name for a metal band
Me too piled on the weight though (well that’s my excuse)
Hi all, I just thought I’d put it out there: you could apply for NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) to help you with mental health if it’s “disabling” you from being a functional person. This is called psychosocial disability.
However, this comes with a caveat: at the moment, the NDIS is still like a lotto because even if you already have a permanent disability, you might not be able to get the NDIS or the right amount of funding - the problem is some of admin staff including the LACs (Local Access Coordinator) don’t have any background in disability or mental health, therefore they don’t always have the working knowledge they are supposed to have, so if your application for the NDIS got approved, you’ll need to be prepared to educate your LAC about your condition, it might be necessary.
My partner is deaf like I, and she had her planning meeting recently. The focus was on her mental health - she’s been battling depression since she was 18 years old and is in her worst period at the moment but she is getting full professional help now, and the NDIS is going to cover her treatment. It’s great because, unfortunately, treatment for mental health is ridiculously expensive and at times not fully accessible.
If you already have a permanent disability, it should be easy to get mental health to be part of your plan, but it really depends on you, what information you give, and the LAC’s understanding of your condition.
Also, the NDIS is not just about getting the access you need, ie, removing the barriers imposed by the society, it’s more about your life goals, community participation, comfort and safety at your home and in public, and, ultimately, becoming independent and healthy as much as possible.
So, if someone you know or you have a psychosocial disability, it’ll be worth looking into it.
So I have had 14 days off unpaid leave this year due to my mental health
Each time I get a Dr Cert.
Today it was brought up that with Annual leave and my sick leave its been almost 50 days I have had off since Aug 2018
I cant understand how 20 days of annual leave can be taken into this
Apparently the disruption in the business is more important than my health and wellbeing.
Meanwhile another bloke who is injured is having 3 months off and will no doubt be welcomed back with a hug and some cake.
Its very frustrating
Yes, it’s giving clicks to mmm but Wayne’s message is important.
I’m in a very similar situation currently and it sucks.
I’ve had a total of 8 days in two years. All covered by sick leave. I have an accumulated 8 weeks of A/L.
My employer is aware that I experience anxiety, I have briefed them as best I can on what that looks like for me and the impacts it has. Three weeks ago I had an episode bordering on panic, it as the first time it’s been that bad in a while.
I was awake all night, finally falling asleep thoroughly exhausted at about 6am. I woke at about 3:30 pm and was not in a good way.
Once I’d settled enough I emailed my boss explaining what had happened and that I was taking Friday as well to get right.
I was greeted Monday morning with a formal written warning for “unauthorised absence” and was told “I’m sure everyone would love to just have a couple of days off whenever they want”.
The letter was signed by the same person who sent out the “RUOK” comms last week.
■■■■■■■ seriously? That is disgusting and should be splashed on the front page of every newspaper
Do you mean you’ve taken unpaid leave but they’ve docked your annual leave days?
Did you notify them on the first day that you wouldn’t be there or was it just a no-show?
If you are strong enough for the process, I’d challenge the ■■■■ outta that warning via HR. Totally inappropriate! Do you have a Union?
A no show. For reasons that they’ve since had explained and were previously aware were a possibility of happening again.
No union, white collar here.
Our “people and Culture” department have the highest staff turnover company wide. The only ones who remain are those who are firmly here to push the company interest in exploiting employees, not to actually look out for people.
I won’t be challenging anything though, I’ll just be out of here.
I’m not criticising you, sorry if the question was forward. I just wanted the detail. Unfortunately unless you have a medical cert explaining why you couldn’t give notice for the sick day they’re within their rights to give you a warning. (i have to stay across this stuff as a business manager). It’s a ■■■■■■ thing to do though and i would never treat an employee like that. Are they generally jerks?
