Interesting to keep Solly around & he really wants to be there. But since withdrawing from competition for Top Dog, it seems that Solly has lost any appetite for any other ex Bomber for Top Dog. Strategy or gripes?
Now Solly has excluded himself from the Coaching race, I really hope he stays on as an Assistant.
I think he would be perfect as VFL coach. He has shown he does the right thing by his players and is willing to try different methods, ala coaching from the boundary.

To be honest feels like you’re wrestling with the issue more with yourself than anything else.
The whole narrative around EFC needing to appoint an “Essendon person” to fix Essendon is flawed for that exact reason.
What the ■■■■ is an “Essendon person?”
You can’t just assume everyone’s definition is the same whether that’s someone who barracks for the club or has worked within the club, played for the club, associated with people in and around the club, whatever?
As far as I’m concerned it’s all a perception thing. If you can sell yourself and prove you’re invested alongside the rest of us then you will be accepted as an “Essendon person.”
That was Scott, Worsfold and Rutten’s biggest challenge in that they continually tried to tell fans to be patient and that the club isn’t unique or special. This just doesn’t fly when the club always feels like it’s treading water or indeed going backwards. Whether that’s through media communications, selection integrity, game plan, fan engagement, etc.

not at all. I understand that its just a narrative that people like to create to help justify certain appointments.
The debate i was having within that was highlighting that people really have no clue what classifies what a Essendon person is.
Personally I couldnt give a toss if its an essendon person or a non binary robot I just want the best qualified candidate for jobs thats it.

Fair call, that would be something for him to way up.
I just thought he would be a perfect type for the role.
If he was an Assistant in the AFL, so be it, I have still been impressed with the changes he has made and his efforts to improve us.

The lack of official leaks and the complete cluelessness of the media is telling me that our club’s culture is improving.
That is about as monumental an achievement by Welsh as winning a premiership.

Agree. You know when different Journos are running with different “Leading Candidates” that’s a sign they are just making stuff up.
Maybe there’s a world where the board will actually see what each candidate has to offer before coming to a decision. Sounds mindblowing

If the club is looking to contact potential assistant coaches and football department staff to build around the coach.
You’d assume agents will start yapping to the press. Thats where the majority of sources come from.
