The Novak saga

What are the options?
Seriously. Money and crowd-wise.
Spain?
They’re not having three slams within what, 1,000 miles of each other.
In fact, forget Europe. They have two.
China?
Bit stale. And Tennis is not on good terms with them right now.
Singapore? Nah.
Argentina? I mean…best of all options so far.
Nothing to suggest junking a century of history on a whim, though.

Not happening.

Of course it isn’t happening. It sort of silly that people are discussing it really.

If it was going to happen, which it won’t, my money would be on Japan.

it’s literally the biggest slam

no one is on Djokovic’s side

they’re not going to change it over a single player, who is also a notorious antivaxxer, even if he’s the number 1

98% of players are playing without incident

Singapore 100%

Has to be the most metropolitan Asian country at this point you would think.

Most disposable cash to splash around too, easiest to get to etc

Mate, it was an example.
Make it Chadstone or the Emporium. In one of their Nike stores there (or whatever sneaker deal he is with).
It’s a day where you don’t need to even try and attract people to your store.
Just mentioning his name will increase foot traffic. That’s an economic bonus for the centre and for the ones around it (not that the centre will care about the businesses around it).

Honestly can’t see anyone getting excited about Singapore for anything.
Let alone giving them a tennis slam.

Really?

Tourism in Singapore is huge. Heaps of nice attractions and its reportedly a very attractive country to be in.

Theres only so many times tennis players can take a photo with a koala and not start to get bored. Singapore is always changing and at the forefront of Oceanic development.

Not a million miles away.
Brunei?

Singapore is a nice transit stop for a day or two. Doubtful many people outside Sth east asia see Singapore as a stand alone tourist destination.

Humidity aside Singapore is awesome but I know plenty who hate it

Well said.
It’s both a distraction from, and an example of, the incompetence of the Morrison-Joyce government.
The entire event was manufactured to wedge Dan Andrews.
When the VIC govt refused to play ball with a “sponsorship” the Liberals were left stranded.
The fact that Hawke can’t make a decision in five days says it all. Not enough time to do the polling.
