Roglic probably was his only real competition. I didn’t rate Thomas’ chances TBH.
I’m disappointed Carapaz’s ride last night, I think the attack yesterday took a lot out of him, and probably was ill considered.
Porte clearly not riding for GC, but perhaps he should have done.
Lets hope the O’Connor keeps climbing up the ladder perhaps an outside shot for a podium. Lucas Hamilton is clearly not right and struggling. I think Haig would have got a podium he hadn’t crashed out, he was in ripping form.
Hamilton was dropped 3 kms after the start - He either is out of form or is sandbagging to chase a stage.
MdVP and Roglic both not starting today
Does anyone know which state Ben O’Connor is from
WA
So much for the French summer, hard to see the riders , let alone the dynamics in the peloton.
Interesting that the commentators have not mentioned this at all
Several times, but I guess you are not a stayer and night owl like me from the flag wave ( not always ) to the end of the stage
- more staying power than at EFC games, but then I have more barracking choices in road races and sometimes more objectivity.
Today, go Ben.
There , they said it just now on SBS - a big day for WA - Wait for McGowan presser if it comes true !
Haha, I’m so slow witted
Touché
But did you know he comes from Freo?
That was a new one!
A certain poster on here is about to go full Yaco with this trivia - dare I mention the rider who calmly slid into the ditch, , according to Bridie O’Donnell
Huge stage win from the gentleman from WA, bringing himself up to a podium place on GC. Massive.
Pog is still on another level though.
McEwan , calling it pedal to the metal , risking the bandwidth
Our Ben
Tomorrow belongs to us.
what a ride! Onya Ben. 12th or 13th Aussie to win a stage of le tour?? Massive.
Super impressive. This tour just keeps on giving. There’s a massive change in the peloton. Out with the old and in with the new breed. It’s great to watch these young riders announce themselves
Should have stayed awake for the entirety…gave it a good crack, but today’s work day got the better of me with about 35km to go.
Somewhat surprised that he put 6+ minutes on Quintana on the last climb. I’m guessing when Quintana looked at him he knew that he was beaten and sat up to save himself for KOM points on another day?
Fell asleep early only to wake up and wonder how O’Connor was given so much latitude in the break.
What a great ride, but he’s not going to be allowed in the breaks from now on!
For a while he was from the ACT
