Intersting case with Bling. Not on the startlist for Plouay. Possibly they decided to wait because it is a tough race at 250kms.
Its a pity about O’Connor not riding the World’s because he could have been competitive on that parcours. You gotta hope that Plapp or Vine reach their potential or otherwise there is no top ten. In the women’s race bradbury is inconsistent and has not been in form this year, however if she finds form then she could top 5. Coupland can do well in the women’s under 23, while I have no faith in the men’s under 23’s.
Jayco has been second hand so far at the vuelta. looking at the bigger picture they need to look at their training program because it does not suit some riders look at the struggles of Boumann and Krinjsen. Bling back on sunday for Plouay. Tough return race at 260kms with close to 4000 metres of climbing.
Studied the team for the Worlds. Doubt they have sent their best team in the junior catagories, while in the under 23’s I don’t understand the team. No tuckwell in the mens is hard to fathom, while Appleton who will finish 3rd or 4th in L’Avenir had to be selected in the under 23 team. I hope that Liv Alula have Appleton locked up for the Conti or WT team. I posted at the time that I was unhappy with how the pro Velo Super league was ridden paricularly on the womens side. Marr is a good rider and should eventually make it at WT level, however, Appleton was the better selction for the role on the Liv Alula Conti team.
PCS had him off an d on the start list on more than one occasion. He’ll then go to the maryland Classic, the canadian races and the World’s. Would like him to get a stage race before the end of the season. Maybe the Cro race or Guangxi.
Impressive return by Bling who finishes an unlucky 8th in PLouay. Comes 4th or 5th if he does not get blocked on the barriers. In the Vuelta, Vingegaard lights up the last climb to take 30 seconds on Almeida.
Jayco is full, hence no Zana. I CANT remember a transfer period when a team lost 4 GT stage winners. I already posted who i understand is coming to Jayco and there are no big names. They will need big seasons from Bling, O’Connor, Plapp and Schmid. And hope there is more improvement from riders like DaPretto, Foldager, Englehardt and O’Brien.
Jayco was never getting Tuckwell.I am more concerned he missed selection for the world’s. Will say that Hepburn non renewal is because of White leaving. He should be able to find a spot as part of a sprint train.
O’Brien did his job today getting Dunbar into the break. BOC crashed two stages ago and has bruised or cracked ribs. Doubt he can recover before the end of the Vuelta.
Finally, it seems that Jayco will sign a climber type currently riding the Vuelta.
Thinking about the Aussie summer. REly on Plapp and Schmid for the TDU as they can win with the prologue. Keep Bling and BOC on ice.
Jayco’s conti team signs Vinnie Mannion from ARA Skip Capital. Has been racing mostly in Italy and has produced some good results. Turns 18 in December. You woonder why he has not made the junior team for the World’s.
Bradbury withdrawn from the world’s elite RR. Somehow, she has been replaced by Appleton who has will ride the under 23’s. Australia tends to select their team too early befor major championships.
The vuelta is staggering along to the finish. The Spanish Government have made it clear they do not want IPT at the race. I will credit the Spanish Government as being the only country to impose sanctions on israel.
Jayco stuffed up the finish of quebec. They had to put Schmid in the late break, instead of pacing to bring Bling back to the leaders. They are tactically naive in one-day races.
Bling is keen to get race days and will end his season at the Japan Cup. Appleton will join the women’s conti team in 2026. Looking forward to the World’s which will have an unreal atmosphere.
Jayco wins the last stage and the GC at Slovakia. the team rode a controlled race and waited for the last stage to make their move. Double was by far the strongest. Expect he will go to either Cro race or Guangxi. Trinca colonel wins the last stage and the GC of Ardeche for Liv Alula Jayco. She’s done exceptionally well this year. And Groenwegen sprints to second behind Milan in Kampionschip in belgium. The Super six race in belgium was a perfect example of why Jayco is getting riders like De Bondt and Capiot because he was isolated in the second group. these type of riders would work for Bling or be in the front group.
As i predicted there will no contract offered by Jayco attached to the Pro velo league. Australia doing quite well in the world’s. Vine 2nd, Plapp 7th in the mens ITT, Chapman fourth in the womens ITT, a top ten in the under 23 mens ITT.
Australia wins the mixed relay by 5 seconds at the World’s in Rwanda. Weakness on the women’s side ( like last year ) with Wilson-Haffended deopped, however, the men’s side was super strong.
It will be a crazy period for Jayco. Nats jan 8 to 11, TdU 20-25 Jan, surf Classic 28 Jan, cadels 1 Feb, Herald Sun 4 to 8 Feb. And the Alula tour 27-31 Jan. I suspect they made need to use some development riders. If they sign Ackermann he needs to do the Aussie block as there is a chance to win a race. I believe the Herald Sun tour will have 3 WT teams.
forgot to add that all teams can only miss one WT race per year. I expect for the women’s peleton they’ll all come to Australia and do both TDU and cadel’s race.
I could not find it on the UCI website or on the PCS calendar, so I assumed something was up. I already had Appleton pencilled in for this race.
Anyway, the women’s team won two stages at Chongming Island with Baker and Talbot which shows what happens when you place your team in the right races. The men’s team are tsruggling to the finish line, however, I think Bling can win the Japan cup on sunday. Plapp already has his 2026 calendar. Main features are the Aussie summer, UAE Tour, one GT and some one day races. Apparently there is a chance that Onley could ride the Tour of Bright with Plapp. O’Connor will ride the Aussie summer in a move that I think is unnecessary as with the route design for the TDU, Plapp or Schmid can win. Jayco did offer Ward a contract after the pro series. I think his manager Annette Edmondson is silly not pointing him in jayco’s direction, seeing that Gerry funds the Pro Velo and of course a contract for the winner is no longer part of the series. Anyway, I’ll be on deck for the TDU. Cant wait!
Seems like the herald Sun tour was cancelled because of sponsorship. Its a pity because it was close to going ahead in 2025. Anyway, Double wins the Queen stage and the GC at Guangxi. He’s been a canny signing. Interesting that at Slovakia and Guangxi Magnier and Double cleaned up all the stages.
@yaco55 What’s the story with Jayco failing to get applications in for WT license into the UCI for both the men’s and women’s team?
Not for the first time, either.
I am unaware of this information. It’s happened before. Wait and see.its a paperwork issue. Will be resolved. Greenedge just tweeted the arrival of two riders for their women’s conti team.
“Jayco-AlUla seems to have missed the deadline for WorldTeam application as the Australian squad is the lone expected applicant not on Monday’s list.”
“Cofidis is a surprise WorldTour applicant on the women’s side as well, while Liv-AlUla-Jayco is also missing from the published list of applicants, just like that organization’s men’s team.”
Jayco were also late with their UCI application 4 or 5 years ago which by the way should never happen. I doubt Jayco would announce two rider signings today if they were discontinuing.
