Yeah sorry. I think in all the busy lead up I didn’t explain this properly.

Very similar to my feelings.

5 votes Googa Mama- The Bongolian: northern dee-liteful soul
4 votes Atomic Swing- Stone Me Into the Groove: considered playing myself
3 votes Beastie Boys- So What Cha Want: intensely yellable
2 votes Happy Idiot- TV on the Radio: pleasantly smooth
1 vote Jamiroquai- King for a Day: the suspect is hatless- repeat- hatless

Honourable mentions Knife Party, Timmy Trumpet, Vitalic, Franz Ferdinand

5 - Magazine (clearly the best)
4 - Battles (who the ■■■■ chooses this expecting to get through, big risk - pleasant surprise for me, these never clicked before hearing that. Cheers, I’ll give em another go.)
3 - Sigue Sigue Sputnik (John Hughes worked wonders with this song)
2 - Beastie Boys (Chop out, null because you can’t post more than three times in a row)
1 - Stooges (every fifth unsigned band in Melbourne sounds like this, good reason for it)

Thanks for doing the mule work on this @mrjez

You didn’t vote for Cliff!

Socks is winning best review comments :joy:

I like the Hank Marvin guitar, but is it floorworthy? SImilar feeling re REM.

It was you that had long running argument with JR about cliff or was that someone else?

5 - Timmy Trumpet & Savage - Freaks
4 - Knife Party & Tom Morello - Battle Sirens
3 - Vitalic - LA Rock 01
2 - Luttrell - Windowscene (Made in Paris remix)
1 - Arrested Development - Tennessee

Thanks @mrjez

5 votes - Battles : same comment as socks I have listened to battles before but never took much notice(in my mind allways harsh music which this was not). This song was very good and leaps above many of the songs here. Loved the production and the experimentation right up my alley.

4 votes Vitalic: One of my top 5 electronic tracks of all time. Love it and kinda wondering why I haven’t played it, I was allways hesitant as I thought it would bomb. Really happy to see it getting votes. Techno>>>> Trance. Used to love this at 5 AM at Teriyaki on a Thursday.

3 -Stooges - yep
2- Fugazi - yep

1- Cliff that was a ballsy move.

Pretty solid selection.

5. Knife party and Tom Morello - Battle Sirens Tom Morello is a friggin guitar god.

4. Cage The Elephant - Cigarette Daydreams

3. Beastie Boys - So What Cha Want?

2. TV On The Radio - Happy Idiot I do like this one, but still, the gap between ‘Wolf Like Me’ and everything else they’ve ever done, is astronomical.

1. Timmy Trumpet and Savage - Freaks This reminds me of a very cool night out in the very early days of Mrs Peos and I, and seeing as though its her birthday today, i had to sneak it in.

Fugazi and Franz both stiff.

Honorable Mention Pretty Fly (For a white guy)

Now that I’ve voted.

Knife party, I was loving it. Everything that you want in a blond track. Great clip, big chunky riff to grab my attention. Then bam, it’s ■■■■■■■ dubstep. Totally killed it for me. I love electronic music, but I hate dubstep.

I loved the selection of songs, great variety.

I dont have strong enough opinions either way on Dubstep, to let it ruin that riff for me.

Just out of curiosity… which was the part of the Cliff song that won you over?

None of it really, I was struggling for the last vote, it was a toss up with TV on the radio. I went with cliff as it was the most unique(without being stupidly weird) song played. Was an encouragement award.

Plus if it was trolling JR…

Thanks for the tip, I’ll change my next track.

No I won’t, I’m screwed already; why not go out with a banger.

P.S. I love that 50s era rockabilly stuff. Cliff did that so well then became a really lacklustre popstar. He’s like the original Feargal Sharkey.

Everyone’s loving Knife Party, I would ignore my taste on this one.

Dubstep to me is like sax to Baker.

Yeah fair enough. I’ve got away with a few dubstep tracks here so there are obviously fans of either dubstep or me. I like to think it’s me :innocent:.

Seriously though, that was a pretty good example of the genre.
