Britpop (just like grunge and punk) had significantly more dross than good, I’ll definitely give you that! All movements do, as the pony-tailed record company execs clamour to sign anyone who they can even vaguely pass off as fitting into “the thing” of the time (and hence make $$$ from).
When Britpop was good though, by geez it was really good!

I thought it was just coincidental timing.
Suede, Blur, Oasis, Pulp…then Ocean Colour Scene, Lush, Super Furry Animals, Menswear…some quality there. Don’t be surprised if disgruntled Blitzgazers are still bitter about MBV and JAMC getting moved on- the shoegazers never see it coming.

Up also brought up the need to put his drink down & hit the dancefloor, but I imagined the DJ King crew in Ibiza & had to spin it. Plus good guys/girls get rewarded. It’s part of the voodoo magic.
