At school all the “meat-and-potatoes-rawk” kids were trying to convince me that I should be listening to the likes of Dire Straits. I just can’t begin to explain how turgid and boring I still find their stuff - music made by musicians for aspiring musicians to fawn over the “widdly-diddly bit” in the 18th guitar solo in track 5.
