That’s one of the songs I listened to. The harmonies reminded me of the Eagles.
Have you listened to “America”
They were another band from that era with amazing harmonies (most well known for “A Horse With No Name”
Not sure. I don’t think so. I’ll give them a listen when I get a chance.
Their greatest hist album is History
If you can play a song by America that isn’t dreadful I’ll give you infinite likes.
Hmmm…that sounds like a difficult task
(As in pleasing you…I love a lot of their stuff)
By the way, thanks for your recommendation re Buried Feather…I’ve just been listening to their album “Mind Of A Swarm” and it’s going straight to the playlist.
Thanks. It’s a ripper album. Dunno if I’ll be into the America/CSNY stuff though, the vocal harmonies make me cringe.
No probs…I grew up listening to those bands so I’ve always liked them.
By the way, have you listened to The Graviators?
Another stoner rock band I came across a few years ago that I really like.
No but I’ll check em out, some of these retro bands are making brilliant music.
Another similar band was Bread.
That’s true LB…they made some great music
Definitely not my bag. Although I think America and CSN could be used on a soundtrack for an Anchorman sequel—which would be awesome. Their harmonies remind me of this scene:
Yes to Ohio. No to Jack Black’s speech.
This times 2, including the yes.
Yes to CSN&Y.
Although if this was a precursor to the Eagles and America then I can safely say I prefer the other stuff the Neil “Godfather of Grunge” Young influenced
Which reminds me, I was at a meeting yesterday, and there was a young guy (seemed like a good guy) in a Kurt Cobain t-shirt.
Being the old dude trying to look like I’m not a complete list cause “nice t-shirt”. “Yeah, I got it at Cotton On. It’s where I get all my t-shirts because they’re cool and cheap”
I could hear Kurt Cobain rotating in his grave all the way from Melbourne.
What song are we supposed to be voting on here…?
Yeah… I picked up a Rage Against The Machine t-shirt at Kmart for $4.
I wasn’t forking out the $6 for the Metallica one, though.
Ohio, by Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young.
I like a lot of this style, Deja Vu has some great moments, Yes
