The reigning DJ King (Mk XII) is nobody 'coz it's Blonde DJ Time....the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90, 00s, 10s Extravaganza (Part 1)

There is an unwritten rule yes, but it doesn’t actually correlate to winning.

Only if you wanna be all cool and stuff like Jez.

Making the final is awesome

a) validation of your own picks

b) reading all the salt of the losers

It does seem nice.

I don’t love Rancid. They’re ok. Their biggest song? Very safe and obvious for BDJ.
I love Midnight Oil. Many many great tunes, some buried deep in their albums. A single from their biggest album? Very safe and obvious for BDJ.

Now, if we had “Radio” and “Somebody’s Trying To Tell Me Something” I’d be voting like mad. I think we see once again why I’m not built for this game.

And I’m always at my coolest in the aftermath of the release of the completed Round 1 table.

You might actually be saltier than me, which is nice to know. Because I’m pretty salty.

No votes for Minor Threat… That’s actually more heartbreaking than the time you snubbed The Mars Volta

Songs that grow on you don’t work in blonde. You don’t have the twenty listens to appreciate it over time. Needs to be punchy and hook ridden to grab attention. Those songs are singles not album slow burns.

Also, I’m spewing Under The Bridge is off the table.

The stage is set for it.

fair, i might go listen to that album now. But i don’t think it would have scored as well because it just doesn’t have the same pop hook to get you those easy votes. I considered playing US Forces of that same album but i expect you’d be making the same complaint.

Dreamworld, although a single, often is derided by Oils fans (i think because it’s a bit poppier) but i’ve always just liked it. Strong composition really nice harmonies in the chorus

I have some salt. Not too much. But this game/thread is made for posting any ludicrous thought that goes through your mind. The folks lap it up.

I don’t choose to play the 'Salty guy who sooks because his rock songs didn’t poll well" character, it chooses me.

I really ought to take this on board. It’s exactly where I’m failing in all respects.

Maybe next comp, I have cool underappreciated #1 lined up already.

I’m dropping out for a bit. I seem to be digging downward, and have some work I’m sposed to be doing also.

Yes that is an extra serving of salt…

Perfect opportunity coming right up

Just when I find the perfect #1 single I sneak into the final. I blame @Klawdy

I’d never heard of them until this week. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To be honest, I thought Peos was a shoe-in for finals when I saw his eighties track.
