FWIW I agree with you regarding The Killers. The first two albums, as well as the B-Side collection they released, were fantastic. After that, fairly average.
I liked its use in a lot of no wave and post-punk, when they’d go for more screechy angular noise with it rather than some warm sunset on a yacht type BS.

I could deal with a warm sunset on a yacht right now. Although I probably wouldn’t choose sax solos as by backing track!

I like the non-sax bits of it (the slashing guitar solo in particular). Appreciated the Foo Fighters version (which supplanted the sax riff with an equivalent guitar riff). Not familiar with the second track mentioned… maybe I’m better off that way…

That piece of audio abuse definitely deserved the NO…it sounded like a bunch of talentless teenagers who found some instruments laying around and thought they’d try and annoy the neighbours

Nah, that’s IDLES (and they top their tuneless racket off with the madman ramblings of the loon from their local train station). This wasn’t anywhere near their level of amateur hour.

Yes, a band/singer I’m aware of but have never got around to listening to. Not one I’m racing out to hear more of, but quite liked it.
