I’m sure there’s been a couple of tracks out of the 150 odd that I’ve played that you’ve enjoyed. Actually I recall you even giving myself some votes in a previous BDJ.
I said something to wim a few day back along the lines of measuring a decade by its charts. I guess Im doing that exact thing with the 80s. Im sure theres plentyof great stuff in the 80s, under the surface thats wondeful.
I guess Im just articulating my gut reaction to the list above more than anything.
I was born in 78. The 80s should be a favorite decade of mine. But a goid chunk of it, I just cant stomach.
The 80’s saw McCartney and Harrison’s careers really peak, all else was merely a buildup for them. There was me in the aisle before encore at G yelling at Macca “PLAY ‘HOPE OF DELIVERANCE’ AGAIN YA SCOUSE PRICK!”
The Cure, New Order, The Smiths, REM, Pixies, The Stone Roses, XTC, Dead Kennedys, Midnight Oil, The Go Betweens, Violent Femmes, The Pogues, JAMC, Sonic Youth…. yeah, I’m good.
