Very hard to vote on this lot. There was a few very 80s stuff, a few leaning forward and a few leaning back. I liked a lot (even careless whisper!). There was also some trash. (Is talk talk the most overrated act this side of Bowie?)
Have Madonna the votes because she is quintessentially 80s. I’d have preferred Vogue or Like a Prayer, but Material Girl is about as 80s pop as you can get.
I love the Max Q work of Hutchence, so that was always going to get votes from me. The Models track is just a perfect first half of the 80s track. REM always sounds good, and I bought a coffee at Heart Attack and Vine earlier in the week, so it needed a vote!
