The Reigning Dj King (Mk XIII) is @nobody...it's Blonde DJ Time again with @mrjez being at his divisive best (Part 1)

that’s fun, Just don’t let Little Miss B go to something like this, like you will have a say

A lot of this sounds like the scene I grew up knowing as hardcore, bands like Carpathian, have heart. Interestingly way different to what I consider emo

I found some of it hard to watch. Especially the 2nd episode.

Punk has splintered off in all sorts of directions, bands have fused many influences and happy mistakes together I guess. Think of them perhaps as just labels or identifiers. You might say there’s loads of sub genres within a punk umbrella, Emo is one label/scene/identifier if that makes sense.

Spare a thought for the poor fellows who had to follow Korn on night 1.

Really imagine being there, a literal cess pit, but the music kept playing

I’ve been at 2 festivals that went slightly off the rails, but nothing close to what happened at Woodstock 99.

It would have been a freaky feeling being there.

Update:

With just one set of votes to come, there are five potential winners.

Once I get the final set of votes, I will slowly put each person’s votes up in the same order that I received them.

I was going to go all AFL and set it up for a cliffhanger…but you lot have managed that all on your own.

There will be a small running commentary at the bottom of each post to explain the situation after that particular set of votes was received.

Now we just need @Stan_The_Apprentice to PM ME HIS VOTES

Hmmm.
If G ‘n’ R were twice the size, things might have got a bit nasty.
Very different crowd, though. There was a lot of what you’d call larrikin behaviour going on.

Yeah still don’t think would compare to Woodstock 99, lined up up girls being raped whilst FatBoy slim played, just a small part

AXL cancelled a lot of his shows when fan’s behaved badly

I was pondering.
It had some similarities and some differences.
Similarities:
Extreme weather.
Water and food being confiscated at the gates.
Ridiculous prices for food and drink.
The water running out.

Differences:
Better security (although not great).
No camping.
And it was a one day gig.
And again, half the size.

I’m not saying they were the same at all, just that there were elements that could have gone similarly wrong.
I don’t think we’ll see a show like that again.

That is nothing what happened, so no comparison

Edit are you on work drugs Wim?

I’m chilling with a coffee, my dude.
I think we’re on different tracks, that’s all.

Didn’t see much I’d personally call EMO there. But I did hear many ads trying to sound shouty like Ian MacKaye.

If GnR was a three day camping event, it could have turned in a similar way.

So you are saying Woodstock 99 could of been successful with your management ?

I’m not saying that at all.
I guess I should be more careful with what I say, as with this crowd there’s every chance that someone here was connected to the gig.
