I feel like this story needs more information.
Yes for the song and the memories
my mates and i also made plans to slay women, just one round of crowns than plan our attack.
Two rounds later, than multiple bourbons and flyboys (vodka squashes)
Gibberish ensued
It was all over until the next payday
Lol.
I literally played the song without watching the clip.
It was Tijuana Makes Me Happy.
From a World Cup video game.
I like the song.
The clip though….
Ok, so I just YouTubed that.
Goodness.
Yes
I had TH4 on the GameCube and played it non stop. Recently I thought about buying the 1 & 2 bundle for my son’s Switch so I could play it again.
As an aside, I recently took my son to a game centre which had old arcade machines. He became hooked on Crazy Taxi. I was singing along to the Offspring and BR tunes. I wish they would release that on Switch, it’d be great to have at home.
The singing at gigs really is a time and place thing. It’s perfect at a rowdy rock show with a killer chorus, and absolutely sucks when it’s a quiet, introspective show and there’s that one guy bellowing it out at the top of his lungs. Still, I kind of respect that guy if he’s doing it because he is moved to such a level by the song. If he doesn’t know the words and is facing away from the stage trying to impress a girl with loud singing, well FK that.
But when an audience is completely invested in a show and everyone is singing along and knows every word and you’re all there together, that’s when live music is at a whole different level that no album will ever be able to replicate.
And yes to this.
And I thought you were hanging at my mates place, then realised the Hawthorn place was his mum’s place…
You’re not on your own. I must be getting old because i can’t be bothered with crowds anymore. I watch the odd gig or dj set online and get pangs of wanting to be there. But then the reality of all the other ■■■■ that goes with it sets in.
I get this.
But you can’t tell me you wouldn’t go see Arctic Monkeys at the Croxton.
You would.
You might not want to see them at SMMB, and I get that.
Is it live gigs you don’t like, or arena gigs?
I’ve always loved live music (except for the Human League concert in the early 80s…they were crap live).
I tend to pick and choose who I go and see these days as my hearing is somewhat farked after too many loud concerts in my younger days.
Having said that, I’ve only recently bought myself a ticket to see Nick Cave and Warren Ellis for when they tour in December…I’m really looking forward to that show.
And YES for the song.
I remember a Green Day gig at Rod Laver many years back.
They’d done a solid 2 and half hour set, of which I sung every word with the surrounding crowd. Obviously, I had no voice left.
Then they came out and did a small second encore, and the song was a slow, quiet B-side that not many people knew. But I did.
So I sung it… With my already horrible singing voice that was now almost completely broken.
I could feel the weird looks from those around me, but it was only when my embarrassed girlfriend started elbowing me in the ribs that I stopped.
I get it.
But that song will always remind me of The Muppet Movie.

Damn, I don’t get this reference, but I want to.
Moving right along…
Crowded live gigs i guess. If there’s room to move, can get a drink and have a leak without lining up then I’m good to go.
Unfortunately, the best gigs are when a pub is packed to the rafters and everyone is going nuts.
If TMBG come back, go.
I’ve got a spare ticket to McLusky at the Corner if you’re interested.
I’d love to. But I know every single track word for word and I don’t want to make everyone else uncomfortable.
Yeah, that would bother me.
