I remember both you newbies joining.
FWIW, I was also on BT but came to BB in 2001. Before BT, there was the newsgroup alt.sport.afl.
Remarkably, way back there in the last millennium - in the 1990’s - that newsgroup provided the ability to ignore users. That came in very handy avoid Collingwood dickheads in particular.

BT went down hill when it was on the club sought and Bargey was the mod, who then took off and left megan to clean up the pieces. She was nice and did her best.

First thread and post titled in capital letters…“SAGGING SASH IS SHOCKING & WRONG”
I had to do something, because unbelievably know one was saying anything about what the new sponsor Adidas had done to our Sash that year…and they sagged and drooped it big time, an utter disgrace!
In fact there was never much talk or emphases regarding the sash at all from the club in previous years as well…we were like Richmond is, we had a Sash, but it wasn’t emphasised like it is now with us…this is how Adidas crept in and took advantage of the clubs apathy and ignorance regarding our sacred sash, and they did what they liked.
So Blitz was a great platform to bring about Sash awareness, and then to begin my campaign to restore and tighten the sagging sash …culminating in a substantial letter to the CEO. Result!!..
Negligence and apathy smashed!!..The letter was discussed at a board meeting.
Not only did we get it tightened & restored, but sash awareness is also now a big part of the club and even used for marketing such as “Don the Sash”, “It crosses our hearts and unites us all”, and this fills me with immense pride.
Thank you Blitz, and thank you Essendon for listening to “the truth”, and doing something about it.
