In 2000 Elon tried to rebrand PayPal as x.com before the board overruled him. He purchased the domain name off of them in 2017.

It’s not possible to trademark X as a company logo.

He actually went through with it. What a goon.

Wow, it’s a farking X.

A person tweeted a few tweets on Twitter.

A person xed a few xs on X.

Yeah. That’s going to get absorbed into popular culture without any issues whatsoever… just flows off the tongue and isn’t confusing at all.

And then the police arrested them.

He’s such a genius.

Apparently in America you can. Problem for Elon is that Microsoft already did it… in 2018…

Yep, looks like I was wrong. Turns out you can. Reportedly Meta now owns the trademark for social media applications.

The logo Musk chose is a generic Unicode font.

I think the meta trademark was only for a particular font/style of ‘X’, but who knows at this point. No idea about the Microsoft thing. Oh, and it turns out that he didn’t get approval from the building owner he rents Twitter HQ off for changing the signage etc, and they’ve called the police on his work crew. All very normal and definitely not a sign of slapdash management at all

Still it’s all wildly silly, unnecessary, badly-handled, and entirely unrelated to the actual problem facing Musk, which is restoring confidence and stability to a business that’s circling the drain due entirely to his worthless brainfarts.
