It was a great heel turn, but they have really done nothing to follow it up apart from a few weak Cody promo’s

P.S. The Parea (not named as such, but under their normal individual names) were two-thirds of a team on Dynamite this week. They were fodder for The Opps (Joe, Shibata, Hook) but at least their third guy was the one taking the pin.
Pretty decent 15 minute promo by Cena on RAW.

I can understand why they didn’t do this in the USA.
It was ok, but still pretty weak imo. Very generic turn on the fans promo. I expected a lot more from his first promo
The whole thing made Cody look so weak. Gets brutally beaten down, finally comes face to face with Cena and he doesn’t even throw a punch
So far this has been one of the worst builds in WM history
Thing is though, for Cena, that works.

True, but becuase every Babyface who turns heel says the same stuff- it doesn’t have the same effect when he does it
If he was going to do it, he needed to go even stronger and harder at the audience imo

I think Cena as heel would work better if he didn’t speak and just took orders from the rock.
yeah i liked it. i initially thought it was going to be smarmy corporate cena, but “its no longer about what you want, its now about what i want” is good
-edit- also having an incredibly vocal audience helped in a big way
-edit2- mick foley says in his books that the best heels are the ones that truly believe that they are in the right instead of just being cartoonish prcks for no reason

The thing about fans wanting guys to turn heel, is that they often want them to do it in a certain way, so they can like them.
That’s not what a heel is.
The point is that your suppose to hate them. You’re suppose to cringe when you hear them and see them.
Far too often people just want some edgy, ‘cool heel’ wrestler……. Instead of the one you actually want to punch in the head.

I think if you a going to turn the guy heel, you have to make him truly despicable- but they would never go that far
Hopefully he turns it up a notch in the next few weeks. Cena with the shackles off would destroy Cody
