I gave up on WWF just prior to WCW entering the building. I just couldn’t stand WCW.
Cena was the face post Attitude Era…. And everything that was wrong with the Wrestling after the Attitude era ended. It was the worst era of wrestling in history, led from the front by Cena.
To say I can’t stand him, is an understatement.
But his fans are even worse than him.

Exactly this. I was expecting him to pass out so was shocked, but the smile made it IMO. Bittersweet acceptance that he’d given everything he had left and it wasn’t enough, but he was at peace with it.

Just to prove how good, Gunther is. He had the whole place booing him, swearing at him, stinking their finger up at him, while coming to the ring. And all he needed was one promo, and not even face to face with Cena…. And the building was ready to kill him.
They never even spoke to each other until the match started.

Yeah he had great heat during the match( but that was because of the circumstances of it being Cena’s last match), but all the post match heat has gone to HHH not to Gunther.
And lets be real, WWE has no idea on how to capitalize on any of this. Gunther “retired” Goldberg months ago, and has done nothing since
Gunther could be a monster heel( I think he is very good), but that would require him to be booked right- and we all know that isn’t happening. Who is the last guy that WWE actually built or got over long term by good creative?
This is the same guy that tapped out to USO at mania, but now we are supposed to believe he is some sort of killer?
Tbf to Gunther, they needed to double security leaving the stadium as he was getting mobbed, and was receiving death threats by idiotic Cena fans.

For the terrible year the H has served up the Cena finalie felt fine, got the response needed, gives a platform for Gunther (a platform he himself had decided to weaken with Yeet man and football commentator person). Man, what a terrrrrrrrible year from WWE.
Andrade is officially FREE from WWE’s attempt to lock him into a one year Non-Compete Clause.
Fightful reports AEW’s Rush introduced Andrade to an attorney and rep that has worked closely with WWE for years, and helped get the year-long non compete waived.
Cue Beast Mortos jokes.
Andrade will be at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom and presumably back at AEW.

Takeshita in post match comments was asked if the arm band he was wearing belonged to Shinsuke Nakamura. Takeshita confirms that it does and that Nakamura entrusted Takeshita to represent him in The Tokyo Dome.
“This Tokyo Dome on January 4th, there are wrestlers who want to stand on this ring where Hiroshi Tanahashi will retire, but can’t. ‘Stand on the ring for me too,’ he said, and entrusted it to me.”
Hartley Jackson got a belt (trios) two decades after first going to Japan. One of the legit most intimidating wrestlers I’ve seen (during the TMDK “invasion” of MCW).
Andrade got pushed hard at Wrestle Kingdom and New Year Dash. Looks like him or Gabe Kidd (singles match between them should be a slobberknocker) are going to get a heavyweight title chance in the future.
Ospreay says that once he is healthy he is “going to handle some business at AEW… and I’m going to come back to New Japan Pro Wrestling”. Then he almost got stabbed in the back by a United Empire member for saying that… New Year Dashes are scary!
(It didn’t read like he was saying he would be done with AEW.)
