House Show in Italy

What is this venue normally used for, and why did they stick the ring right down the far end? And why did they mostly shoot it so you didn’t see the second level goes up HIGH?

(Later: surely not just for Oba’s entrance? Urgh, it probably was.)

This foot-under/on-rope shtick in the first two matches is just embarrassing (not least because the irrelevant run-in person botched grabbing the leg). Commentary has to “play”/be confirmed as dumb, and the endings hung over the otherwise decent matches like a bad smell. Just have a clean (or dirty) winner, ya cowards. Not this 50/50.

Also, everyone attending got to go home with a piece of Jade’s gear

Apparently it is “unbelievable” that Lesnar would try an F5 at the start of a match. Neither of these guys is the intolerable Booker T, but they still talk so much (scripted) crap.

Definitely not the worst six-minute spot fest.

There is a literal 15 minute break between the end of this match and the start of the next one. WWE pls.

Becky and the jobber that DELTA killed have pretty bad chemistry at times. And neither of them can throw a not-obviously-air punch.

Everyone needs to no-sell the Soul Snatcher, Samoa-Joe-style, by just walking away.

It was just under 21 minutes until the next match starts… with a minute and a half of them circling each other.

Reigns better pay for that food he stole!

This match is sooooooooooooooooooo slow.

It’s ■■■■■■■ sleep-inducing.

I’d have taken 15 minutes of ads mid-match over that.

JUST WATCH THE AAA SHOW (it’s all good, and the main event is MOTY.)

Heavyweight title (match four) and the eponymous Brawl at the end of the show are the best matches amidst some pretty poor stuff:

Eight months after stepping down as champ due to an ACL injury, Caveman Ugg

returned

and immediately got sniped from behind. Dunno if this means he is close to returning or some time away.

I know it’s California and the Bucks and Mistico and Shingo are in it, but the first match at Forbidden Door says HOT CROWD.

Then they casually slot in Zach Sabre Jr vs Kenny Omega second…

LIGHTS OUT…

Switchblade is back! And it’s a nice NJPW callback.

Maya World is effin’ legit.

She’s gonna be The One that beats Forever Champion Athena… in her fourth year of wrestling.

Nobody does completely bonkers multi-man matches better than AEW… and with so many character and storyline moments. So ■■■■■■■ good.

Meltzer is gonna ■■■■■■■ run out of stars.

Is Lio Rush > Danhausen?

Whatever your answer, they’re in the right companies for themselves.

I LOVE his character transformation. Every version of him has been boring/annoying as hell……this ‘gollum’ or whatever he is is must watch.

It appears the Dropouts (Scott Green from Survivor, and The Tuckman) are heading to WWE. Announced departing Australian wrestling last night, Tuckman relinquished his Soul of PWA belt.

AEW seems unlikely given Jay White almost stole their entrance gimmick on this week’s Dynamite. Plus it’s much more WWE-style to have them abruptly drop titles without a match (see also Baron Corbin and MLW).

Dubbo represent!

(Green on crutches yesterday so don’t expect them to show immediately.)

El Grande Americano got shown on the World Cup broadcast. Sadly both of his teams are now out.

… and …

Sheamus has quit WWE after (apparently) getting low-balled by a TKO “re-offer” like everyone else.

Very very excited for this. Wonder if they get to bring the theme song over or will it be some absolute WWE run of the mill slop?

WWE is 90% entrances (and ads) so of course it will get dumped

Seriously, they’d have to pay for the song so likely won’t.

WTF Kyle Fletcher… claims on Collision that drop bears don’t exist.

BANGER INCOMING!

8 years ago in the Thornbury Theatre was their first match, and possibly the best match I’ve seen in person.

Check out that flog inciting the crowd 52 seconds in.

Includes the first appearance of the springboard Dingley Destroyer on the apron.

Tome Filip is also on this Collision!

(part of a team “already in the ring” to job to the Don Callis Family, but still)

Ospreay gets a promo to boost the boy from (stated) DINGLEY.

Brooks gets a full entry, albeit noted as from Melbourne and not DINGLEY.

That chop hand mark on Ospreay’s chest…

I don’t think I’ve seen the pull-the middle-ring-rope-and-let-it-rebound-into-your-opponent’s-groin move before.

Nice, Brooksy. He likes getting to heel up.
