Tim Watson has hit back at The Australian journalist Patrick Smith as he continues to claim that Bombers coach James Hird should still be removed from the job.
“Patrick Smith’s article this morning about sacking coaches, just the idea of the article was really just so he could have another crack at James Hird,” explained Watson.
“It is becoming boring Patrick, just give it away – you’ve been banging on for two and a half years about how he shouldn’t be the coach.
“You got it wrong once in the paper, you went too early, don’t make him pay for that mistake.
You can call me bias…although Watson has whacked a few, I feel he is measured and balanced - he will criticise EFC when it is warranted, but he doesn’t keep hammering some point to the state that the whole issue in the first place is forgotten. He is not emotional and erratic like some other journos who had a certain narrative or agenda and that’s all they stick to.
Watto only got it wrong once with the bullying bit. Smith is further destroying his reputation by taking swipes at windmills. In fact does he even have a reputation anymore? Does anyone care what this man or what a majority of the media say anymore? Smith's opinion is so stuffy and irrelevant it's not funny, you might refer to it as 'yesterday's news'. He has a need to be heard but really is just a miserable, stale, wooly, cynical old fart with who often struggles to say a good thing anyone.
