P.S. Communication specialist, you mention the captain’s name ten times: 6 as Dunn, 4 as Dunne. Pls.
I want to know how many Peter Paul and Marys they have.
(Puruntatameri – Freda was coming back to us in 2020, but…)
well i ask this question again.
Since we were given the Tiwi Islands as our NGA zone, how many players from the woman’s team have been given an opportunity to come to Melbourne to play in the VFLW, learn and develop their craft to then take back and assist in their community?
3?
How many mens players have had an opportunity to play in the VFL team in the same capacity?
0?
given there are guys playing for Tiwi right now who played for the thunder in the NEAFL and the VFL and the NEAFL are now pretty much the same, i can see an opportunity being missed right here.
@Benny40 you might be right, but i feel like giving 1 or 2 blokes from the Tiwi a chance to run around in the VFL for a game or 2 is a pretty win/win scenario. Get Coles on board like they did with the Womans team
did you?
kind of, partly football, partly community.
all agree that fixing one will fix the other
Tiwi team has been hit hard by a number of factors thats impacting their ability to recruit, thats a big part of the problem on field
I was going to guess that. I know many of the other NTFL sides have guys fly in to play 3/4 of the season up there and play 3/4 of the season down here.
I had a look at their list on the website, it didn’t seem to be too much different from recent years.
For the record, at least 5. Two new ones were announced at the start of 2020.
Tiwi girls are doing better because the professional standards of the women’s comp isn’t near where the men’s comp is, so the competition is more even (favouring the naturally talented girls) because most of the women competing in it haven’t had access to professional development resources that most of the boys have had through their football careers.
In the mens comp there’d be a big development gap in resources between the guys who grew up in marginalised communities and those who didn’t. And that isn’t even factoring in the disparity between teams who have former AFL/WAFL/SANFL/VFL players in their teams. @benfti Does the NTFL have a salary cap or some form of equalisation measures in place?
All local leagues have the points system, so… kinda.
From what I can see, Aussie Wonaemirri was the only one of their ex AFL players to get much of a season in.
Ashton Hams (WCE) played 7, Ross Tungatulum just a few, Allen Christensen just a few.
Dylan Landt (ex EFC VFL) also seemed to bob up for a few games as well.
Dylan had 48 disposals against Tiwi last week! Is apparently a reasonable chance for the league B&F.
Do we know who he is playing for when the VFL season starts?
Unfortunately I’m not sure of the answer to that at this stage. I really rate Dyl, great kid with some real AFL level attributes IMO.
No content coming through but when I quote it’s a Facebook link.
How’s that?
