Inspired by @wimmera1’s recent revelation that he has only just found about the chess move enpassant, this is a thread to own up to the things you’ve only just learned about after being oblivious all your life. The more embarrassing, the better!
Today I learned that windscreen wipers aren’t the same length, with the driver’s side being a fair bit longer than the passenger’s side. I never knew. Apologies to the counter bloke at Bursons for my scepticism.
Not all cars. But different length is quite common.
Wiper park position placement is a thing. LHD designed cars that aren’t designed/converted for RHD often have the wipers parking on the drivers side, so the sweep results in the screen being cleared beautifully for the passenger, but the driver gets an arc rather than the straight edge along the A pillar.
Merc had a thing for single wipers, initially on a conventional arc, and then using a clever cam system so the wiper extended to better clean the upper corners.
Hahaha!! Learning something at the age of 42 is tough. Not sure how many more cricket seasons my body can get through so this is a potential new pastime for me.
Don’t get me wrong, golf is a great game, but it will frustrate the hell out of you. It’s near on impossible to get your Driver, Irons and Putter all working well together at the same time.
