RIP Tommy.
The football world is poorer for your passing.
RIP Tommy.
With the passing of Reg Gasnier only the night before both of Australia’s major football codes will be much poorer for their losses, True Gentlemen and icons of their sports
Seemed like a really genuine gentleman. RIP
Thought the dude was immortal to look like that at 82.
RIP.
RIP Tommy Hafey. A great mentor to so many.
Had a very formative hand in the development of one K. Sheedy. RIP Tommy, respect for all you did and all you gave to footy.
Bit by bit we're losing the people that made football so great.
As respected in this game as anyone. RIP.
genuinely sad.
genuine bloke.
RIP, but like KB, a man who hasn't been in touch with modern footy for 20 years
One of the worst posts I have ever seen on Blitz. This a thread of respect.
R.I.P. T-Shirt Tommy. A real gentleman and a man who truly loved and respected the game.
If it is to be, it is up to me. Told my year 12 cohort that when he visited us, has stuck with me since.
RIP Tommy Hafey
RIP Tom Hafey.
Old school gentleman, respected by all.
having met him several times through work, albeit briefly, he was as genuine and likeable in person as his public persona.
Had him as a motivational speaker at work once. Everyone, even those with no interest whatsoever in football, were mesmerised by his presence and his enthusiasm for life was contagious.
Some of my earliest memories of him was religiously watching World Of Sport every Sunday morning.
I remember seeing him on Coaches Corner every week in that customary t-shirt.
Was a huge figure in the game at that time.
I’m thinking Sheeds would be doing it pretty tough right about now.
He loved Tommy, as most football supporters did.
His work ethic should inspire us all.
RIP Tommy
R.I.P Tommy. Still remember shaking his hand in year 12 when he came and made a speech about keeping on going and not stopping no matter what. Legend.
RIP, but like KB, a man who hasn't been in touch with modern footy for 20 years
Fark, you talk ■■■■ sometimes.
RIP, but like KB, a man who hasn't been in touch with modern footy for 20 years
Gee that's a really disrespectable post. Tommy Hafey is a Great whoever you barrack for. A gentleman and a master coach with a personal discipline that would beat nearly anyone on the planet.
I wish that we were seeing tributes from Sheedy rather than Malthouse atm.
A ■■■■ like Malthouse telling everyone that Tommy made him the man he is today doesn’t do the man the justice he deserves.
Giving Sheeds half an hour to tell Tommy stories would be time well spent.
Vale Tommy you legend.
Sheedy tweeted last night that tommy was one of the most inspirational person ever to live .
It has been continually reported in the media ,he lives in sydney now,
Sheedy had tommy address the players often during his career as well as mentoring dean rioli during his trials and tribulations.
Tommy attended last years edfl grand final at windy hill where he was concerned about daniel connors wellbeing i am told.
Well done KB.
RIP Tommy Hafey. So sad to see a man as fit as he was cut down by that bugger cancer. We have lost a true legend and a
true gentleman.
